The Knicks have improved their offer to Denver for Carmelo Anthony.
New York is now putting Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Eddy Curry and a first round pick to Denver for Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups and salary cap filler.

at this point id give up Gallo and Will and do the felton/chauncey swap to get melo if the othe roption was him to NJ which apparently melo will do if the knicks dont make an offer. In all honesty we have a good chance of losing Will this summer cause hes a RFA and will probably earn big $ this summer which we wont want to give up cause of 2012. And i love Gallo but even his ceiling isnt as high as what Melo already is, you gotta give Denver back something. Keeping Fields is key for me cause imo hes the perfect 2 guard for Melo since he doesnt need the ball and does the little husstle plays while Melo will do the scoring. And i love Felton but Chauncey is a decent PG still, would be nice to provide some playoff expeience, and he will still play at a good NBA's starter level for the 2 years before we can sign a top of the line PG in 2012 top create our own big 3 which getting Melo would allow us to do.
i say pull the trigger. Melo going anywhere else besides NY right now would be a travesty. NJ would just be devastating for us when they are about to move into our city, cant have it. At the same time, us getting Melo already with Amare and than a PG in 2012 especially right in time for the Nets move would be a joke. There would literally be 0 Nets fans in their own home of Brooklyn. Within 5 years they would have to move to Seattle or some #!+*

Hahn was saying that they asked Denver who you want Gallo or Fields and they said Gallo.

I think D'Antoni said he is almost there. But I've also read that the Knicks might buy him out.
I actually don't mind choosing between Gallo or Fields..Gallo is likely the better player with more upside..but you already know Mike would be playing him and Melo at the 3/4 with Amare at center. Neither Gallo or Melo are capable of playing the 2, at all IMO.
I dont think Gallo's upside is as good as advertised. If it comes down to it, I'd keep Fields. His bball IQ is very good and he's averaging 10 and 7 in his rookie year at the most athletic position in the NBA. You can't teach what he offers to the Knicks. Gallo is talented, but i feel like he's definitely the teachers pet. Wilson is a more aggressive and consistent scorer....he may have hit his ceiling a bit being injured but you keep Wilson he can play the 2-4.
And we can't have a selective memory about Gallo...as if this dude wasn't showing up every other game....he just started playing hard a few weeks ago
Thank you.
