Losing 30+ million probably made him finally come to his senses. Told yall all along he wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He was getting that $65 mil one way or another.

What's frustrating to me is Melo clearly wants the money AND the Knicks. If he comes as a FA he helps the team more, but he loses money so he won't choose that.
I won't comment on any deals until they're for sure, this most recent one is fine I guess, its not about who we give up but who we get. I know what Melo can do but I also know what he doesn't do.. If this results in 3 superstars then I'll shutup and eat crow, but I don't know, its just a lot to consider.

Although Gallo is one of my favorite Knicks, if the trade would indeed be Felton, Gallo, Chandler, Curry, draft pick for Melo, Billups...you gotta pull the trigger.
But if Gallo could somehow be on the team with Amar'e and Melo, dude would be our 3rd leading scorer over 20 points per. He would get soooo many open looks it'd be unfair.

It's not a lot to consider at all man....this is a franchise player, top 10 in the league. The last thing to be concerned about is what he doesn't do....his impact is way too strong to ignore. Gallo, Wilson, etc. are just role players. They don't compare. Whatever it is that Melo doesn't do, we address in the offseason with another set of role players, because that's what they're for. They compliment the headliners. That last offer that was proposed isn't bad at all.

He even said himself the new CBA is in the back of his mind. No one knows the parameters of what it will be. There's no way any sane person would leave $65 mil on the table when it's all but guaranteed that the number of years, money, etc for the players is going to drastically change from what it is now.
D12, Deron and CP3 aren't going to be making the same money Melo is going to get if/when he signs the extension with whoever.

denver screws us over too because if they wait for right before the deadline, we have no time to even make "Plan B" moves IF we don't get him. AND if we do get him , we have little to no time getting decent pieces to replace what we gave up. negotiations, ETC all take up time. It's not always a today for today type thing, especially when the players involved are decent.

It's very clear Denver does not want to deal with us at all. It's almost sickening that they want over half of a roster for 2 players.
Denver can have any combination of the 3(Chandler, Gallo, Fields), but to ask for all of them just signifies that they don't want to deal.
I hope Melo realizes this, plays his +$%% off the rest of this season, and signs here in free agency leaving Denver in the dust.
