I think the refs would have viewed that play as Farmar losing his dribble. He never seemed to have control of the dribble to start off with the steal.
I would understand why a double dribble would be called, but there was no pressure on D. The ball was just sitting there, with no control. IMO, thats a looseball, therefore no team or player has control. Therefore, play on.
At least, thats how I would call it.
