who's available though? A lot of teams are in contention, unlike years pastOriginally Posted by ooIRON MANoo
They can't ignore it much longer, especially with Manny out and the heavy burden on the offense.
I know the plan was to wait until June or until the trade deadline to find some pitching but it seems like it has to be sooner.
There are some valuable trade chips like Xavier Paul, Chin Lung Hu, Tony Abreu and Blake DeWitt.
There was a nice list of Pitchers that might be available, can't find it thoughOriginally Posted by CincoSeisDos

Teams already out of contention IMO....
Baltimore Orioles (Guthrie, Uehara) - I'll even take Eaton, dude is a beast at the Ravine
Cleveland Indians
Oakland A's
Washington Nationals
Pittsburgh Pirates
Houston Astros
San Diego Padres
Colorado Rockies
Teams that will be out of contention soon...
Seattle Mariners () - hope they continue slippin', wouldn't mind having a shot at Bedard.
Chicago White Sox - It's been said this is a rebuilding year, but Kenny Williams is no fool, he fleeces people.
Arizona Diamondbacks - I know they are behind the Pads and the Rockies. They have a lot of slumping hitters that could get hot. D'Backs are capable of making a run.
isnt eaton making like $6-8M which is why hes so hard to trade?
Yes, but the Phillies are picking up the tab.
i'd love Bedard, but at what price? Hell, give me Peavy while we're at it. But again, who do we send? How much $$ in addition to said players?
Bedard will come at a steep price, because he rebounded from last year. However the price will be lower than what the Padres will want for Peavy. Bedard is a free agent after this season, Peavy is locked up until 2011-12. The Pads will ask for more to trade him within the division.
I don't think the Mariners will get what they gave up for Bedard. The Mariners gave up Adam Jones, George Sherrill, Tony Butler, Chris Tillman and KamMickolio. I think the Dodgers could find a way to package Blake DeWitt with a high ceiling pitcher (Elbert, Leach, Lindblom) for Bedard. DeWitt will be veryenticing due to his versatility and the fact that Adrian Beltre's days with the Mariners are numbered. At this point, you have to consider giving OrlandoHudson and extension, so DeWitt's path is blocked by Blake (signed through 2011).
Werth, just stole home,
This is !$%!$@* embarrassing.
