Rose: With Perkins Gone, We Know We Can Beat Celtics
Apr 08, 2011 1:09 PM EDT
Publicly, Derrick Rose told the Chicago Sun Times Wednesday that he was concerned that the Bulls were "not moving in the right direction."
Privately, within the Bulls locker room, their belief that they could beat the Celtics changed when Boston traded Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City.
The Bulls felt that with Perkins gone, everything changed for the Celtics. They no longer had the toughness, the tenacity, the presence in the post.
Sources: Nets, Jay-Z fined $50,000
The New Jersey Nets have been fined $50,000 for Nets minority owner Jay-Z's presence in the Kentucky locker room after the Wildcats clinched a Final Four berth, according to sources with knowledge of the penalty.
Word circulated around the league Friday that an unnamed team -- which sources confirmed to ESPN.com is the Nets -- was fined for violating league rules that prohibit contact with players who still have collegiate basketball eligibility remaining.
The NBA's investigation, first reported by CBSSports.com, was triggered by a video showing Jay-Z visiting with various Kentucky players in their locker room at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., after the Wildcats' quarterfinal victory over North Carolina.
Though the circumstances of the visit seemed harmless enough, with Kentucky players clearly more excited about meeting a world-famous rap mogul as opposed to a part-time NBA team executive, Nets officials were expecting a fine based on what happened to Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge in 2007.
Boston was fined $30,000 that year for "excessive contact with the family" after Ainge was spotted sitting next to Kevin Durant's mother at the Big 12 tournament.
He only gave daps to the players. I wonder if MJ's going to get fined for talking sneakers with North Carolina players?

I hope you get your wish, that would be an entertaining thread no matter the team that wins.
Fair warning, May 7th is a day to avoid NT.
The way this team is playing, they're gonna get their $*$@$ kicked in Round 1. Regardless of who they play.Originally Posted by JapanAir21

Ehh, dude has a clear bias against Howard for whatever reason. The guy compares him to all the 90's centers saying he should be where they are offensively without mentioning he is better defensively. And that bringing every game ##*$ is crap.Originally Posted by CP1708
