OFFICIAL 2010-2011 NBA PLAYOFFS THREAD : VOL. MOST. ANTICIPATED. PLAYOFFS. EVER?

Blame his teammates for not feeding him the ball enough, or the officials for taking him out of so many games/letting him get molested nightly.

QFT

You know Simmons is just blow air out his #*# when he says %@+@ like Howard only blocks shots into the crowd or whatever.  The rules of the NBA are different than they were in the 90's and so is the game. While playoff basketball is still physical and about size, the NBA is a guards league increasingly and the rules are catered for guards and not for big men.  If Dwight had a PG who could get him the ball in the Paint than yea, sure he would look better than he is but that isn't the case. He plays with a bunch of %%!++@ 3-point shooters.  The guy is hitting 60% of hit shots but simply doesn't get the rock enough.

The way this team is playing, they're gonna get their $*$@$ kicked in Round 1. Regardless of who they play.

They don't match up particularly well with anyone in the playoffs right now. Maybe they beat New Orleans. The other 3? I doubt it.
Quite possible. We either play like we went 21-1, or we play like we were 8-9.

Writers, fans, whoever often say "this guy should be doing x, y, z, out there every single night" like it's as simple as turning on a switch and boom... Dwight will put up an all-time great season. Up until this season (and he still has room for improvement), Dwight has been unable to dominant nightly because he simply didn't have that skill and ability. It's taken him a long time to get where he is, and for everyone to assume he is supposed to be better is asking too much. For all we know... this is all Dwight is capable of and is his ceiling... do you forever hold that against a player?

Simmons has something against Dwight, it's obvious in his writing... he really says Dwight holds back, Ibaka works harder than him, cruises through quarters, and defers to Jameer purposely... seriously Bill? When I watch Dwight I guess I miss all of that stuff... what I instead see is him CONSTANTLY calling for the ball and his teammates still shooting 3's, I see him get hacked, slapped, scratched, and beat up every other play down the court (when I suppose he's taking it easy according to Simmons), and I see him do as much as he can the way the offense and personnel is designed around him. Simmons then says how Dwight should be leading and others should be following him... that's another unfair criticism... LOOK AT WHO HES PLAYING WITH, there's only so much your superstar can do, something tells me even Jordan would have a hard time motivating Hedo, Ryan Anderson, Gilbert Arenas, J-Rich, and Jameer Nelson

He then adds, "I have season tickets and didn't care if I saw Dwight this season. That's your MVP? Please." Cool Bill... we're all very pleased to hear that fact. It also seems like people constantly mention Dwight's defense like it's no big deal. "He can't shoot free throws, he gets techs, he complains all the time, he doesn't have a good post game, he jokes too much.... oh and by the way, he's the best defender in the league".

He put Westbrook on his All-NBA 2nd team and Chris Paul on the 3rd team. Come on, Bill.

I could see that happening.  D-Rose and Kobe (1st team), D-Wade and Westbrook (2nd team), CP3 and Ginobili (3rd team).

If OKC wins tonight and Dallas continues to lose, I think its safe to say OKC gets that 3rd seed. Dallas is just terrible.

I hope so. Not that I fear the Thunder; I'm just more comfortable with the Mavericks. I have a feeling they'll complete their comeback against the Clippers tonight, though, and stay 1 game up on OKC.

But you'd think Nuggets/Thunder games would be entertaining as hell to watch. Their 2 games in the past week have been painful to watch.

Sign of the apocalypse: Trevor Ariza has 59 points on 55% over the last three games (22 rebounds, 8 assists and 9 steals, also).

Willie Green: 31 points on 100% shooting.

Edit: And he misses five in a row to close out the game.

Forreal though..

Lakers don't stop messing around, they might end up with the 3 seed. Not like it'd matter to them, but it'd matter to other teams.

JA, I didn't notice how close ya'll were behind LA. Just a 1 1/2 back. It seems like the safest seed is the 8th. Too much can happen between 6th and 7th. I'll be pissed to get that 6th seed only for LA to move up to 3rd.

When the Lakers decide they want to not show up for games, do they meet up before the game starts or does one player set the tone and everybody else follow?
