It's safe to say journalistic integrity died long ago. Most reporters don't even care how credible their source is, or even look into how their source stumbled onto their information; all they care about is being the first to break the news, whether true or not.
"The only thing I can say is that Francis' salary is not the highest of the CBA foreign players — he is not even among the top few players," Beijing Ducks official Yuan Zhao told the China Youth Daily of Francis' reported 800,000-dollar contract.
Talk about falling off.

Other interesting China news for the season...

Besides Marbury, fellow former NBA All-Star Steve Francis, one-time NBA slam dunk champion Fred Jones and high-scoring shooting guards Ricky Davis and Mike Harris have all signed on to Chinese clubs for the 2010-2011 CBA season.
In an effort to kick off sales of his "Starbury" shoe line to China's 1.3 billion people, Marbury in November re-signed with Shanxi.

But the 33-year-old, who made national headlines in the US for his ugly spat with the New York Knicks a few years ago, last week was unceremoniously dumped for salary "reasons" and an inability to guarantee fitness.

That did not deter the former Knick, who immediately signed with rivals Foshan Dragon Lions.

Jones, 31, a seven-year NBA veteran who played for many teams including the Knicks, will lace up his sneakers with reigning CBA champions Guangdong Hongyuan, winners of six of the last seven league titles.
Xinjiang signed former Sacramento Kings shooter Quincy Doubie for a $1.4-million salary and former NBA power forward James Singleton for a contract "above the NBA minimum," according to the China Youth Daily.

You know what, I was gonna let the Knicks loss rage out of this guy but I'm just gonna take it as he has low reading comprehension.  Nothing I said in my post is incorrect and Manu Ginobili.  But, it's my mistake for thinking the biggest homer and non-contributer on this board and in this thread would understand a post like that even if I did have some positivity in it.

Osh, I am starting to join the minority of Knicks fans that want to hold off on trading for Melo and willing to take that risk to keep this team intact.  Amare is thriving off of Gallo, Chandler and Fields playing so well on the wings and defenses having to defend the 3 ball against them.  At least 2 of the 3 (even all 3) would be included in a trade and you lose that factor and defenses would be able to zero in on Amare and Melo.  I'm of the wait and see approach with this team.

That was a gut wrenching loss last night.  My hate for Paul Pierce multiplied exponentially last night but that was a clutch shot.  The Knicks played their $%* off and have nothing to be ashamed of.  They scored 116 point against the best defensive team in the league.  They'll come out even hungrier on Friday.  The fans that have waited around this long are finally getting a team worth supporting and I'm proud to be a Knick fan today.

Its just a DUMB thing to say when MANU is playing the best basketball of his career. Its wrong because MANU has not an ankle problem since 2 years ago.
Oh and I'm sorry that I don't have ESPN insider so i can copy and paste to be a contributor in this thread.

Doo will want NO part of me when that house of cards comes crashing down.  He can post all the @#$% he wants, he's going to disapear come May like the last 3 years.

Pro, here's the thing I wonder though about stayin as you are.  Have we not already seen Amare, a bunch of 3 point shooters, and good PG before?  I get that you guys like your team, and that was one helluva game last night, and they look real solid out there, but in the postseason, when teams can lock in and scout and focus on Amare, etc etc, it won't work.   Getting Melo, gives you two elite guys that can take turns late in games.  And always remember, the Bulls didn't want to give up Deng for someone once before, and that didn't work out all that well for them.  If these Knicks keep playing well enough, you may not have to give up multiple peices, like Gallo AND Chandler, so I dunno if you guys want to scratch Melo off your wish list just yet.

Call me crazy, but has it been Wade playin ridiculous these last ten games?

Sure has the look of a guy that pushes his team.  And he was the one that wasn't in game shape the first 15 games of the season and what not, now he's healthy, and they ballin............weird.
wink.gif
Props to Cleveland at least trying this time.  Of course they were gonna lose, but at least someone tried a hard foul, or make a play, something.  That first game was straight embarrassing.

Great shot by Amare.  Needed an extra tenth, but still a great shot.

Nash with like 11 points, 6 free throws on intentional fouls in the last 23 seconds...........Elite.  He gets to the line so well.  Elite.  Ever.  All time.

Hollinger is like that doctor/professor guy on 90210 that had Kelly all brainwashed and Brandon had to ask Dylan for help gettin her mind right.  Hollinger got everyone's brains locked up.  And stats are supposed to be non biased, and yet Hollinger is more biased then Bill Simmons is.

Yes, I went 90210 on ya'll.  Versatile

I hope everybody else in this thread is as lost on that analogy as I am.

Very suspect.

Dude, I'm just gonna leave that part alone

I get what you're saying CP but thinning out the roster is worrisome for me. Yes, he's had these types of teams before but not the types of versatile players as a Chandler or someone with the ceiling of a Gallinari. Or someone with the heart and drive of Turiaf. Or a backup PG like TD who can score and give everything on the defensive end. That's what frustrates me the hell out of Gallo. He showed last night what he can do and the type of player he can grow into throughout the season. But he takes games off and floats around the 3 point line a la Bargnani when Bosh was there. I would love to see him put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop like he did last night.

I'm willing to take that risk of seeing this team mature together and see what they can become and possibly having Melo dealt somewhere else and sign there. Chicago would scare me if they got Melo but I don't see it happening because of their unwillingness to include Noah (which they shouldn't). Orlando would scare me as well but they seem hell bent on winning with the team they currently have. New Jersey does not scare me one bit if they get Melo. I'll take my chances with this team and if he goes into free agency next year then go after him hard and input him into this lineup.

That was harsh DBD, I shouldn't have said that
