OFFICIAL 2010-2011 NBA PLAYOFFS THREAD : VOL. MOST. ANTICIPATED. PLAYOFFS. EVER?

Dude, I'm just gonna leave that part alone
laugh.gif

I get what you're saying CP but thinning out the roster is worrisome for me. Yes, he's had these types of teams before but not the types of versatile players as a Chandler or someone with the ceiling of a Gallinari. Or someone with the heart and drive of Turiaf. Or a backup PG like TD who can score and give everything on the defensive end. That's what frustrates me the hell out of Gallo. He showed last night what he can do and the type of player he can grow into throughout the season. But he takes games off and floats around the 3 point line a la Bargnani when Bosh was there. I would love to see him put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop like he did last night.

I'm willing to take that risk of seeing this team mature together and see what they can become and possibly having Melo dealt somewhere else and sign there. Chicago would scare me if they got Melo but I don't see it happening because of their unwillingness to include Noah (which they shouldn't). Orlando would scare me as well but they seem hell bent on winning with the team they currently have. New Jersey does not scare me one bit if they get Melo. I'll take my chances with this team and if he goes into free agency next year then go after him hard and input him into this lineup.

That was harsh DBD, I shouldn't have said that

Call me crazy, but has it been Wade playin ridiculous these last ten games?
nerd.gif
Sure has the look of a guy that pushes his team.  And he was the one that wasn't in game shape the first 15 games of the season and what not, now he's healthy, and they ballin............weird.
wink.gif
Props to Cleveland at least trying this time.  Of course they were gonna lose, but at least someone tried a hard foul, or make a play, something.  That first game was straight embarrassing.

Wade's been playing great and so has your least favorite player as well as Bosh.

Oh?

Do you think that I like Wade?  Do I like Bron less then Steve Nash?  Less then TMac?  Amare?  Vince?  Sheed?  AI?

Is that what you think?

Anything else you wish to teach me about myself?

Tell ya what, do you even know WHY it is that I beat on Lebron?  Any clue?  I bet I can guess what your thinking is.  Because he's against Kobe huh?  Am I close?

Well, no then, you'd be wrong.

Do you know that I consider Vince the greatest dunker I have EVER seen?  Or that I believe he SHOULD be a top 5 all time NBA player?
Do you know that I thought Rasheed had the tools to be THEE best power forward to ever play the game?

And I "dislike" both of them.  Why?  They are not peers of Kobe really.  (I guess Vince was for a year or two)  So why would I "hate" on them?

Because they are wastes.  To me, they wasted their talents that COULD have made them elite of the elite.  All timers.  Bottom line, as solid as their careers are, they should have been better.  Certainly, that is my opinion, maybe I am wrong, and they tapped their potential to the best of their abilities.  But to me, I thought they should have done MORE.

Bron, say hello to Sheed and Vince for me.

My boy Bron has been spotlighted for over a decade now.  Certainly is an elite guy.  But is he everything he COULD be right now?  Be honest with yourself.  He ain't is he?  Still wonder about that jumper sometimes.  Still misses a lot of free throws for a super human.  Post moves?

So yeah, I "hate" him, because I want him to be better then he is.  That's the label I am given, for speaking against him and his mighty soldiers.  Thas alright, I don't really care, you can go ahead and assume you have me pegged, but the more you think you know, the less you know.

you sell high if you're the Knicks, you have to.

I can say I will have no regrets if Donnie fails to surround Melo/Amare with a good supporting cast.

I will HATE it if we do nothing and he is shipped off somewhere and decides he doesn't need NY after all and we're stuck with what? 6th, 7th seed type years? until they wait for CP3 or ____? no thanks.

If we knew for sure he's coming here regardless, sure wait it out and keep the young core. But that's not a risk I really want to take. Amare is in the prime of his career, don't put that to chance.

With a sub par suppoting cast, what seed are we if it's just Melo/Amare? What would be the starting lineup if we ended up Gallo/Fields/1st pick via AR trade/Curry/Will?

Like I said, I'm in the minority of keeping the crew together. If we happen to get him before the deadline, it's not like I won't be happy and celebrate Donnie.

Gallo/Fields/1st pick via AR trade/Curry/Will?
there's no way I'd include everyone.

but If I can get Melo for 1 of Chandler or Gallo + Fields/AR's pick/Curry....I'm biting the bullet on that one.

I think the Knicks could add the right role players around an Amare and Melo core over the next year or two. They can survive without Chandler and Gallinari if Melo comes over. However, a player like Fields would need to stay because he does the small things that cover up the deficiencies of Amare and Melo. I think Randolph could too, but he's been awful so far.

And like I said before the season, fifth seed is realistic with a Amare, Melo and Felton led team in the East (maybe even fourth with Noah's injury to the Bulls).

You're not gonna have to give up Gallo, Fields, Curry, Will and a pick tho are you?
ohwell.gif
Thats a bit much, and if it is all that, then it won't be Melo comin over by himself will it?  Somebody else would have to be coming with for all those guys.  You aren't trading 3 starters, an expiring deal, and a first rounder for Melo, no way.

Without going and looking up mock trades, it would be Felton/2/Melo/Amare/Turiaf?  As a starting group?  So say Fields is the one that stays, there's your starting five.  Then Douglas and AR off the bench (AR owuld have to start getting minutes) and then whatever other bodies you can sign.

Bottom line, last night your starters played the whole damn game anyways, that bench is not as deep as I was told earlier in the season, so it's not like depth isn't already a problem.   I would rather have a go to guy (who could really turn it on in a happy setting) and go from there.

I think they'll be asking for more for him. I really doubt it'd be Gallo/1st rounder/Curry. I'm with you, of course if it's just those 3 pieces going out for Melo I'm all for it. It's gonna be at least 4 pieces and maybe 5 going back I'd imagine. But, that's all not considering if it comes down to the deadline and he's still there. Maybe then they take an offer like that but that really seems like a lowball. Right now, I'd figure it's Gallo/Fields/Curry/pick.

I THINK they've asked for Fields.  I'm pretty sure he'd have to be involved if Denver wants to snag a young player.  AR is definitely gone, either for the 1st rounder or in the trade.  The thing that sucks about playing all of these close games is that there's no garbage time for him to get in there and build his confidence a little.

CP, I think D'Antoni is set with Amare at the 5 and loves Turiaf off the bench.  The bench depth is good, don't be fooled because D'Antoni sticks to a 7 man rotation.  That's just his MO.
