why are the nets playing at 4 pm?

lebron's situation reminds me of the year before Arod got a ring. Arod kept coming up with runners in scoring position in the playoffs. He would fail every single time and fate kept handing him a chance at winning a game or hitting a single for a tie. he just couldn't do it. There were multiple times the game ended with him at the plate with a chance to win.

Kill Bosh all you want but he's in a hard place right now. He tried to play his traditional post/elbow game but it hindered so much of Wade/Bron's game that they had to move him outside the paint. It killed his game because Spoelstra HAS to find ways to make Bron and Wade stay happy and the way they stay happy is by having their way on the elbow and being able to penetrate to the paint and finish/draw fouls.

Bosh going to a team like Houston to be built around as the #1 option of #2 option behind Martin would make him an All Star again, I have no doubts saying that. You can go ahead and take this season as what Bosh is as a player but if you choose to completely block the years in Toronto scoring with ease on the elbow/in the post even with 2 or 3 defenders on him because Bargnani doesn't go to the paint to help on either side of the ball, then I don't know what to tell you.

Honest question.

When the lights were on, and there was a mic on Lebron at the all star game, I heard/saw this rah rah Bron begging his team to win.

No mic last night, did we see Bron rah rahing, begging his team to finish this game?

Why not?

Another thing, I don't think the main problem is who decides to take the shot at the end of the game. You see it every time it's close and they are trailing late, there is no execution and no communication during the play.

Also, I'm getting why Boston traded away Perkins for Green and New York didn't go after a traditional big now...Miami (specifically Bosh) is not going to punish them down low and they can switch everything on pick and roll situations defensively.
Why do they need to match up with Miami though?

New York I can see, but Boston had a clear advantage, dominating all three Heat games this season.

Don't you think they'd want Perk for the Lakers? Or hell, even the Mavericks if they end up in the Finals against Tyson/Haywood?

If they end up playing with the Spurs sure, but Lakers, Mavs, Thunder all have front-courts now that would have size advantages over Boston (sorry, I don't have faith in the O'Neal brothers).

At first I thought this Boston trade was a win getting a talent like Jeff Green, but I thought they'd get another Center, but all they have right now is Troy Murphy. He's great and all, but he's not going to do any work for you against big Centers like Orlando, Lakers, Mavericks, and Thunder front-line.

Again, why worry about what Miami does? Their front-line sucks, why sacrifice your best Center to match-up with them like that? Sure they want to stop Wade/Bron, but let them do their work, the rest of that team is not doing ANYTHING.

why do this to yourself?

Dallas can make the finals, no problem.  I'll give you a chance at the finals.   But did you just ask about having to "matchup" with Tyson and Haywood?

The Celtics could match up with those 2 with KG and Baby Davis for #$%^ sakes. You act like those 2 dudes would come in and go 40-20 on the Celtics or some @#$%.

BEST CASE of your life would be 20-20 a game from them both, and even that is waaaaaaaaay generous.

And defensively, Tyson may do some nice work, but it don't matter regardless, he doesn't have to fear Kendrick anyways, so Tyson isn't now suddenly going to be free to roam, he would have been anyways.

The Celtics don't need Kendrick Perkins to handle the Dallas Mavericks, be real.  If the Celts and Mavs made it, Shaq would cause enough fouls on Tyson to cause an issue, and if they had to go with KG and Davis for stretches, it wouldn't even hurt them one bit.  Ain't like Dallas would suddenly kick it down low to Tyson and have him operate off the block or something.

The biggest reason they traded Perk was his new contract. They wouldn't be able to match his demands, so might as well get something in return and Jeff Green can play the 3 or 4 as well.

Orlando only has Dwight, and while Perkins allowed them to play him without doubling, now you just hope Shaq/JO can do a good enough job, then bring in help if needed. It's not a great strategy, but force Orlando's shooters to beat you, rather than Dwight.

The Thunder don't have two dominant offensive big men, so I don't think they're worried about Ibaka or Perkins putting 30 on them in the Finals. The Mavericks have Tyson (no one is worrying about seeing Haywood in the Finals), and I'm sure they're confident of the O'Neals to matchup with Chandler. The only team they might need to worry about is the Lakers, so missing Perkins will hurt them there.

I'm just saying man. Would Kendrick not have affected Game 7 last year?

I'm not saying the Mavericks are the creme de la creme of front-lines, but they are long. Davis is a great guy, but having Haywood and Chandler out there for 48 minutes would make it hard for guys like him to get off. Not just Tyson and Haywood either, without a guy like Perk, how do you stop penetrators like Barea and Beaubois? I only mention Haywood for his defensive skills. It's also a reason why I'll bring up Diop and Dampier.

Go ahead, laugh.

Done? They are the reason we beat the Spurs in 06. They put the clamps on TD. Now I'm not saying Perkins is TD or anything, but both Chandler and Wood can dominate a front-line on defense.

Counting on Shaq being healthy is a big commitment. Counting on JO to be healthy is a big commitment.

But my main concern was the Lakers, or Thunder, or Orlando. Teams they could potentially face.

I was never talking about on Offense, I know no team is going to get killed by Tyson/Haywood, or Ibaka/Perkins. Only reason I brought up the Mavs/Thunder were for their defensive abilities. Think of Ibaka and Perkins in the paint together?

My whole point is, you traded away your best center for what? Jeff Green to help lock down James? What's the point when you already were dominating the Heat to begin with? Now, if Shaq is out, and JO isn't a for sure thing..

The three really strong teams in the West are Dallas, Lakers, and San Antonio. Two of those three teams rely on their freakishly huge front-lines to help them out. Dallas with Marion, Dirk, Tyson, Haywood, Mahinmi. Dallas can match-up with pretty much anyone. There are nights when Haywood doesn't play, there are nights when Mahinmi won't play. Same goes with Lakers. The Celtics HAD that luxury when they had Perkins. Giving him up for his contract doesn't really make sense... Jeff Green will be up for an extension too.

You think Roddy or JJ gonna run roughshod thru KG and Baby?  Rondo gonna die?  Shaq and whoever else they use at C won't be around?

You makin Perkin sound like the second coming of Ben Wallace out there.

Dude is a solid as hell defender, but the 12 man roster of the Celtics was not just one defensive player, and 11 other guys.  Come on.

And as said, Perk wasn't going to get money.  PERIOD.  They took a calculated risk in moving him for a young piece that can help them extend Pierce and Allen, as well as move him to the West so it's less of a chance of dealing with him, and it happens to coincide with a strength of a potential foe.  Just cuz they shut them down 3-0 so far, don't mean Wade and Bron won't play 46 minutes a night in May, which Pierce and Allen may not be able to handle.  So get a young guy that can play 30-35 minutes, stretch from the 2 thru the 4 spots if needed, and go from there.

It's an EASY move imo.  The ONLY team that could harm Boston after this deal would be matching up with LA.  And if LA ain't there at the end, then Boston should be fine.  It's that simple.  They can still match up with SA, or Dallas, they could have a little more leeway with Miami now, they should be able to match up with Chicago just the same, and against ORLD, well, that's gonna suck.  But Green can also do ok vs Bass/Anderson/Richardson/Hedo etc etc.  Just gonna have to use 6 fouls a peice with Shaq, JO, KG, Davis, and Murphy to hold him down best they can.

Jesus......

A, Perk is up in 3 months dude.  Green is up after next season.  They don't need to even pay him til Ray is off the books, and KG and Pierce are a year closer.  This buys them time.  Perk was up NOW.  Get it?

And how on Earth do you figure that Tyson and the rest of those dudes is some clear cut advantage over Shaq/JO/KG/Davis/Murphy and even Green can play the 4.  (as he did in OKC)  That Dallas frontline isn't gonna do a damn thing over Boston.  Hell, you even put in Marion, so I guess I can include Pierce as well.  I win.
