And that's that. One incredible off-season for the Miami Dolphins.

Job well done by Ireland. Now the coaches need to teach these players and develop them.

We are a lot stronger than we were 12 months ago.

To say the very least.

Ireland really came into his own. With the year leading up, having the cap space, and being as aggressive as he has been he really did a good job.

Now it's time for Philbin to shake the "teams can't win in free agency" that seems to float around often. This team, arguably, has been a built a bit of 50-50. A lot of talent that can win, really going to be a mixture of things imo. The obvious being how much Tanny will progress and take that next step. He really didn't have Much to work with and when Philbin (Sherman) seemed to open things up a bit more he looked good. I would like to see more Clay now with Keller on the field at the same time (too early to say with sims). 3 very good wide outs along with Lamar and Mike (don't think Thomas will have much of a home unless he pulls his head out, doesn't seem too likely) the offense looks to be very explosive.

The second part is, very obvious and you lot probably already know, Red Zone defense and Turnovers. I don't care many yards teams rack up. But if the Phins Defense can create turnovers, generate a lot of pressure, and keep teams out of the end zone then lot of great things should be on the horizon.

I'm pretty excited about the upcoming season, although I love this team I haven't been this excited in a long while.

Just a heads up, NFLshop.com has all the old jerseys at half price. I picked up a Tanny jersey for $50.

Is there a hurricanes thread anybody has a link to? Been looking for one ima huge hurricanes and dolphins fan

Dolphins to open training camp on July 21
14 practices open to public

DAVIE ——
The new-look Miami Dolphins will open training camp on July 21 with an 8 a.m. practice at the Doctors Hospital Training Facility, the team announced Wednesday.

The July 21 practice, which is also "Family Day," is one of 14 public workouts the team will hold. Thirteen public practices will be at the team's training facility while the other public practice will be at Sun Life Stadium.

The Dolphins, who have revamped their roster, uniforms and logo, open training camp about a week earlier than most teams because they play Dallas in the Aug. 4 Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. That also means the Dolphins will play five exhibition games instead of the usual four.

When minicamp ended last month, quarterback Ryan Tannehill expressed optimism about what the Dolphins had accomplished during the offseason and where they're headed.

"I think we're confident, but we're hungry," Tannehill said. "We understand that it's not going to come together overnight, but we have to put in the time during camp.

"We have an extra week during camp, and we'll have to use that to our benefit. Although on first thought, it doesn't sound great that we have another week of camp. But I think we can use that to benefit us as we grow, heading into the first week."

Perhaps the most compelling story line early in training camp will be the performance of Dion Jordan, the defensive end/linebacker the Dolphins selected with the No. 3 pick of the draft. Jordan, who had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum after completing his season at Oregon, missed most of the offseason workouts because of a NFL rule that prevents rookies from participating until their school's academic year has concluded.

Eight of the Dolphins' open practices will begin at 8 a.m. Among the six practices that begin at other times, there's a 7 p.m. practice on July 29 at Sun Life Stadium, a 6 p.m. practice on July 31, a 1:30 p.m. practice on Aug. 1, an 11:30 a.m. practice on Aug. 2, an 11 a.m. practice on Aug. 6 and a 1:30 p.m. practice on Aug. 7.

Fans interested in attending any of the practices open to the public can reserve free tickets (only 2,000 are available each day) at http://www.dolphins.com/trainingcamp.

The July 29 practice at Sun Life Stadium, which is five days before the Hall of Fame game, will feature the team's first intrasquad scrimmage, as well as activities and promotions for fans.

The July 27 and Aug. 11 practices are exclusive sessions reserved for season ticket holders only.

The July 28 practice is reserved for FinClub members.

The final training camp practice open to the public will be Aug. 15. The Dolphins break training camp after the Aug. 17 game at Houston.

Practice times are subject to change and fans can stay updated by calling 954-452-7004 or by going to http://www.dolphins.com/trainingcamp.

Coach Joe Philbin was pleased with OTAs (Organized Team Activities) and minicamp but said he'd be looking closely at the rushing offense and rushing defense during training camp.

"It's hard to get a tremendous feel of where you are in the running game on either side of the ball," he said last month. "That is something we need to pay close attention to when we get to camp."
