This looks nothing like Kaman, Aminu, & Gordon to the Hornets, they actually look happy

yea free range to play yolo....and a getting a nice piece of change to do so...them dudes are elated. Where as Kaman and company...to which has had a long stretch of losing...and has had some moderate success in winning at some point in career, get stuck in a go nowhere situation....looks like damn, not this ish again.

If you look at bball and just the history in general...when has there ever been a ball dominating perimeter player and a ball dominating center to workout win. Granted it worked with kobe and shaq...but kobe was know where near the ball dominating focal point of the offense he was once shaq left the lakers.

I mean think about it...Jordan a ball dominating perimeter player never had a big man who needed the ball and control of the offense like a shaq/d12 does... Does Miami have that? Um no. Did dallas have that? Um no. The Celtics when they won....The lakers when they won? All NOOOOO!!!!!.

I said this before the season in the lakers thread when they had the poll on how many games the lakers would win, would they win the chip...when folks was saying they could be the next kobe/shaq. Kobe didn't control the offense or dominate ball control with shaq there, like he does now. And when he started to do so.....with shaq there you saw they lost.

If they are to win be successful with kobe still, they need good perimeter players... A big man like a noah/chandler type player and a fairly decent/steady pg.

Its not even a knock to kobe as a player, cause the same applies to a LeBron/Rose/KD etc... that if they had a big man like a d12 they would either have to dial their games back, or d12 would and just become a typical scrappy/workhorse type of center, like a noah/asik/ben wallace in his day,

no matter where he goes dwight will never be the man on a team. his game is not suited for that

harden is the man on that rockets team.

i do not get some people who think dwight is all of a sudden going to average near 30 a game. when has he done that? not in orlando with a bunch of trash.

thats not his game. its a shame a big man like him only gets a bit over an assist a game for his career

you can blame kobe, blame antoni, blame the pressure, but seriously dwight is dwight.

dwight would have been great on the lakers because we would have had another max player to put next to him and a really good player to go along. he wa never going to be that franchise player regardless of what mitch kupchak or any person on the lakers organization fed his ego at the time

he averaged what 17 ppg last year with the lakers playing less minutes than the previous 2 years and getting worse at the free throw line by about 10 percent.

if he was healthy and made his free throws he would have gotten his averages or better

nobody hindered his game

lakers would have been better off had he re signed with them but what can you do? cannot force someone to stay if he doesnt want to

never be the man on the team?

Have you seen the previous 8 years of his career?

As funny as this sounds, Zach Randolph can go on that list. Probably the Nash, Pierce, KG list. He's put the team on his back in the playoffs several times over the last 3 years. But, probably can't do it anymore.

I have mad respect for Z-Bo but I'm not sure he's earned that distinction. I think he's excelled in the perfect situation though.

I didn't realize Atlanta management is basically Spurs East. They got Pops' right hand man and Danny Ferry last year. Should be interesting to see how it works out when they're on their own.

Have you seen the previous 8 years of his career?

Exactly if he wasn't the man/focal point of Orlando who the hell was....? A roided up Hedo.... Rashard Lewis...Maybe it was Jameer Nelson? To suggest Dwight wasn't the "man" or the centerpiece.. key component to the magic and their success is foolishness.

Those sentiments sound like lakers/kobe homers...who are a little jaded and showing favoritism. Clearly this why the shaq/kobe tandem eventually failed... And since then no dominant big man or ball dominating player has been apart of/has worked out for the lakers. And it wont work... with not just a big man, but with any ball dominating player....

Not so long as kobe is who he is, and continues to play like he does. Cause lets face it..he isn't scaling back, hed retire before that would happen. And any other ball dominating player, especially in this day and age...and with the make up of the team/coach etc... wouldn't work nor want to play there.

It would be like having a tandem of like jr./ellis on the same team...having neither one of them willing to dial down change  and switch up their games. Ish like that just doesn't work. Never has and never will. Players like kobe/rose etc... need a bunch of titos to their being Micheal Jackson. They cant work effectively, or be who they are with a similar player, or another person stepping back etc.. and be successful.

Was it you Allen that said over and over, why don't the Thunder call up the Magic and offer Harden and Ibaka for Dwight, and get that dude in town with Durant/Russ right here and now?

And the Magic would have taken that deal too.

Instead Presti sends Harden in conference, and now Dwight joins him and OKC got to deal with that.

Dwight/Collison (or a stretch 4 replacement)/Durant/Thabo/Russ would have been BULL ****!!!!! Just tons of stupid. All in their primes too.

But outside of here, I never saw a single mention of Harden/Ibaka to the Magic for D12.

Yes, although, with that I theorized that there was no way Dwight would ever, ever leave Russ/KD high and dry - but uh, he just left the Lakers so...I don't know..maybe OKC would have got caught with their pants down. (although possible they get a ring out of it anyway).

He would have had a chance to win, and not the expectations of LA on him tho. And he would have easily been happy with two young guns to help carry the burden for the next X amount of years. Might cost him a little less money, but he would have had a chance to make a run at Shaq's 4 rings at least. (in theory) And defensively, that team would have been unreal with their speed/length. He would have had it made out there.

That team woulda been scary :x

The championship years could have been a bit of luck for Dumars. Ben Wallace was a relative nobody before he became a Piston. Billups was basically being traded every other season. RIP was sort of the one guy out of that trio that was bonafide. 

Timing was right for them to be motivated and get better.

Larry Brown helped. Prince being the ultimate glue guy helped.

I think at some point russ/Dwight would've had friction... KD has kinda accepted Russ for who/what he is...and kinda catered centered his game around his style of play...Plus KD is a multi-facet player capable of inside/out pick and roll, pick and pop and iso...Dwight is very one dimensional... And with the way Russ holds the ball and penetrates etc.. and is a shoot first type..i think possibly Dwight might have gotten frustrated/upset by this and still possibly wanted out.

well he has the same amount of rings as KD, CP3 and Melo...and has something that CP3 and Melo dont, a Finals appearance.

At the very least he can be (and has been) the star player on a contender.

I'll take the guy who can give me 20 and 14 while playing elite caliber defense.

It really was...the stars kinda aligned for him and everything kinda just fell in place for him.... That's why I always believe the mark of good management etc.. is long term tenure and what they can do to build/rebound/bounce back. Anybody can just about manage seem good when stepping into a good situation. Same with coaches.

That's what separates ownerships (former) like the lakers etc....Miami from others...they been in the championship years....a few not so great years and rose to the glory years once again.
