Ya'll are looking too much into a picture. Marshon is definitely happy now that he's not going to be stuck on the bench + he's playing in New England again.

but look at most of the championship teams in the last 20 years. most of the #1 guys could and would put up 40 on you in a playoff game...usually were the leading scorers and go to guys in the 4th.

Well, Tim Duncan has a career average of 20ppg. He wasn't really that type of player. KG was probably the best player on the Celtics team that won, and he wasn't that type of player. Pistons leader was Billups, who wasn't that type of player. All those guys drove their teams to victory by impacting the games tremendously in every facet, not just pure scoring.
Billups maybe a stretch since there wasn't a clear "the man" on that team.

IMHO, its not even the scoring. harden is the face of that team. 'the beard' has been the guy for the rockets since he came on board. even with the dwight signing it seemed like they were building around harden and not the other way around. i dont see dwight's goofy self taking over as team leader. defensive anchor, sure. but when crunch time rolls around, who do you want to lean on? not dwight, thats for damn sure.
of course, he could develop his post game and grow up some more, then we can talk.

I think Harden has a long way to go before he becomes a true franchise player. He has great potential but doesn't have a complete game right now. Not necessarily disagreeing with what you wrote, but he hasn't learnt to impact in all facets.

All Harden has to do is improve his defense and he's easily the best SG in the league now that Kobe is getting old.
He can shoot the 3, is a savant in the pick and roll, good court vision and is historically good at drawing fouls. He needs to stop the pull up 3's but he's the truth.

Ppl should just forget about the amnesty at this point. Only a few contracts are eligible and worthy of it since the new cba.
Marshon couldn't be that in his dreams on this Celts team. I do feel sorry for him but he really ain't that good.

detroit had a good thing going... sure it was a real slow process, but they were headed in the right direction. they had some nice young players & could have built on that core with draft picks & other small, but key trades here & there. now they're throwing money at smith & jennings & if they add jennings to the team, that's less opportunities for drummond, knight, & monroe to continue to grow & develop. best case scenario, they turn out to be a consistent 1 round & out team for the next couple of years.
but
at marshon... i think boston is a great situation for him though. he's a player that has a real bright future if he's in the right situation to develop & have freedom to make mistakes, but learn from them. he has an offensive game that can get going in a hurry & he can light it up quick. he can also go cold quickly for long stretches, but in boston i feel like that's something he will be given the opportunity to work through given their rebuilding stage. the biggest problem with him playing with the nets was that he wasn't given the freedom to play in his last season... he was always looking over his shoulder at the bench (when he actually did get in) & was taken out the second he made a mistake. however, when he was given time in his rookie year, he was a nice addition to the offense. i see him having a real bright future because he already has a talent for putting up points. now if he can do it consistently & add some defense to the mix, he'll be a good player for that rebuilding team.
