The west is far from depleted even with the injuries. They shut down Leonard, contained Duncan, held the team to a low amount of points. They might be 2nd round exits next year, but they're capable of making and winning the Finals of they play their best consistently. A few weeks ago, they were looking like the top team in te league while everyone else was struggling. Now that they struggled and lost, they're considered pretenders?

The King and two all-stars couldn't get passed the old noncontentious Spurs. No one is a lock for the Finals because no team plays their best in every occasion.
