These players are hilarious. They know the fans want that 90's feel back with the fights but my goodness how r professional athletes this soft. Haha atleast they're trying I'll applaud the effort

Damn, Zach Lowe puts the Pacers' ugliness into perspective

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18959003/zach-lowe-paul-george-future-indiana-pacers

"I have a budget," Bird said. "Whatever that budget is, I'll spend it. Sometimes, we can't go after max guys, or players we really think could help us, because of our budget." The Pacers spent up to, and over, the cap in recent summers when they had room.

They fired Vogel and exchanged Hill for Teague with the stated goal of playing faster. They're playing a hair slower than they did last season. They promoted McMillan even though he had almost no history of pushing the pace. That's not to say McMillan was a bad choice; he's a smart basketball mind with a good track record.

But hiring him without interviewing anyone else is a failure of due diligence. A team seeking a vision should expose itself to lots of potential visionaries.

Regardless of who succeeded Vogel, Teague would ignite a drive-and-kick machine and free George to work more off the ball. Nope. Their shot selection profile hasn't budged: They're 19th in total drives, 28th in shots within the restricted area, 27th in 3s, and toward the top in mid-range jumpers. They're 15th in offensive efficiency, and 17th on defense.

They might be the most average team in the league.

"We ask ourselves all the time: What kind of team do we want to be?" George said.

"Sometimes we look like a playoff team," Al Jefferson said. "And sometimes we look like a team that has no business being together."

Pels on fire right now...been at all the home wins..nice to see good effort at the end of the season

New Orleans has Denver 3 times (twice on the road), Dallas at home, and Portland on the road

They gotta go 5-0 to have a chance. At the minimum they gotta beat Denver every time.

Gonna be tough.

Pelicans have won 5 of their last 6 :nerd:

Been one of the best defenses over that time too.

I remember the overreactions the first couple games, dudes saying Boogie and Brow wouldn't work.

Like having two of he most transcendant and versatile bigs in recent memory wouldn't eventually work itself out.

Can't wait to see how they look with a full offseason, too bad the rest of the roster is trash.

Hopefully NO can learn from some other teams how to utilize late picks/d-league/less heralded FA's to improve the team.

They just need a scoring threat off the bench and a 3 and D SG and SF to start.

Punish teams for doubling in the paint and space the floor out for Boogie and AD to do work.

Bucks 2 games out of 5th seed and could get it by Friday if we beat Kings and Hawks :smokin

Id rather play Washington or Boston over Toronto though.

NBA teams have improved their road record significantly over the past few decades. In the 1987-88 season, home teams won an astounding 67.9 percent of games. By 1996-97, home teams won only 57.5 percent of the time. After hovering around 60 percent for most of the 2000s, home-court advantage is dropping again. This season, it sits at an all-time low of 57.4 percent.

NBA players are sleeping more and drinking less than they did in previous generations.

"Tinderization of the NBA," said one NBA general manager.

"Tin-der-i-za-tion," he repeats, "like the dating app. No need to go to the clubs all night anymore."

NBA players can now meet people from their comfort of their hotel room instead of clubs and bars late at night.

"It's absolutely true that you get at least two hours more sleep getting laid on the road today versus 15 years ago," says one former All-Star, who adds that players actually prefer Instagram to Tinder when away from home. "No schmoozing. No going out to the club. No having to get something to eat after the club but before the hotel."

Players travel on chartered planes and also are more committed to their craft, which includes taking better care of their bodies.

"Alcohol kind of stopped," George Karl says. "In general, players have become very serious about their profession. Players today have a more dedicated attitude about 'This is big money.' They're very aware of having a plan, a plan of development, a plan of commitment, a plan of growing."

One current NBA coach notes: "[Players are] not going out to clubs anymore, acting like imbeciles. They get crushed in the media when pictures come out, then they get clowned on for 24 hours."

Says one executive who tells players to find clubs that take phones at the door: "You cannot get framed if you're not in the frame."

The good ol days when players shot long twos, played hungover, and spent late hours tryna hunch on something. But hey, they didn't rest.
