Official 2017 Knicks Offseason thread, Phil Jackson gone

Mostly. Yall should follow Melo's lead
Where? :lol Name a team that would fire Phil for saying anybog the stuff he's said. Name one.

Hea said far worse of Shaq and Kobe and they were winning.

First it was triangle, then posse, now this.

Stop the sensitivity.

I look forward to when Phil is gone when y'all get back to complaining about Dolan ruining the team.
Soon this what's gonna be said in regards to KP.

:{

Hey man I don't care what the media does. I feel the root of the problem really has nothing to do with the media.

Phil Jackson has a problem with his mouth and likes to stir up controversy at the worst times.

His comments on Melo were absolutely pointless and made absolutely no sense considering we've been playing good ball

I've never seen Melo walk out of a post game interview until he was asked about the Phil comments the other night.

He's tired of him coming at his neck period.
So what?

Let Melo deal with that. Random criticism from Phil is not a problem. Y'all dudes got thin skin or something.

Also I don't get how you can say this is not about the media when you're concerned about Melo walking out on a post game interview with the media. When it was somebody from the media that asked the question about something Phil said Melo hadn't even heard.

I mean damn, maybe Melo can do for some of this random constant critcism from a guy that simply demands greatness. If not, then this shouldn't phase Melo at all. You saying Phil is a problem and maybe if it was just a mediocre team but not every player is a bum. Melo should be having fun with Phil "coming at his neck".

This sensationalism got yall caught up.

Phil is used to making those controversial statements and they work...when you're a COACH.

When you can light a fire under a player and mold their response in practice, when you can fake out opposing coaches and influence referees.

But as a President of a team, he's doing way too much. What other team President makes those type of comments about players on their roster?
Phil is obviously doing things his way. Probably shouldn't be compared to other presidents of operation for the very reason that most of his experience is from being a coach.

I mean the GM and coach been mostly silent. I know it's NY but some of this stuff is being blown out of proportion.

I remember watching a draft express video on Bender where some scout actually said he has a higher ceiling than KP

Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek says he doesn't expect Derrick Rose to play tonight in Sacramento.

Carmelo Anthony’s Instagram posts were about Phil Jackson, says Knicks have a ‘black cloud’ over them

SACRAMENTO — If there was any doubt, Carmelo Anthony cleared the air Friday and acknowledged that his Instagram posts a day earlier about checking egos and equating the abuse he receives to that of Muhamad Ali, were indeed about Phil Jackson and the team president's recent criticisms of Anthony's ball hogging.

And more than anything, the Knicks star is confused about his boss’ timing.

"At the end of the day we're playing good basketball," Anthony said. "That's the only thing that matters at this point. So any negativity that's coming towards me or towards the team, I don't think we need it at this point."

On Tuesday, Jackson went on CBS Sports Network and commented on Anthony's tendency to hold the ball too long. Anthony was unaware of the critique until following Wednesday's game against the Cavs and sent out two Instagram posts essentially saying he feels targeted and is not going to fire back.

Jackson and Anthony have previously butted heads during their tenure together, and haven't spoken about the current problem.

"I didn't talk to him so I don't know where he was coming from with those comments," Anthony said. "If he wants to talk about it, cool. If he don't, cool. In my eyes it's over."

"I feel like we're playing good basketball, and just to have a temporary black cloud over our heads,” he said. "I don't know when the comments were made or the gist of them, I just know something was said."

Anthony said his choice of Instagram quotes — including "EGO is the only requirement to destroy any relationship. So, be a BiGGER person, skip the "E" and let it "GO" — captured his feeling organically.

"I'm a big quote guy so there's a million quotes in my phone. Sometimes it just pops up at the right time."

only thing i would consider fire is the Top 3 1's

everything else was previously released, so its recycled that i already got lol

You sneakers are all holding up?

Almost 90% of my sneakers that I've had from 00'-08' have ether been falling apart on on their way due to age :(

Bred 1's, Cement 4's, True Blue 3's (I got lucky with my pair), Black Toe 1's, Copper 17's, Space Jam's, Flu games were all great.

I have a VERY similar set up in my apartment. Sneakers still falling apart. Granted, we're talking 13-16 year old sneakers here.

Do you wear them ? cuz i heard if you just keep it there then yeah they start to crumble, if you wear them daily even around the house, they just take shape and wont crumble

Good timing Hank. Anyone have the plug on these Spacejams releasing tomorrow? The last Jordan release I bought were the Chicago 1s, but these are calling my name.

If you guys need a great tailor or any jewelry let me know.

Literally every store in NY has about 5000 pairs each, there SUPER general, you should have no problem grabbing a pair.

This is what he doesn't understand. The players will be bothered by the little jabs, but they'll understand it when you're the coach in that locker room daily. Its going to be received differently from an isolated executive, no matter if he sits in on practice every now and then. It's another element of human nature and his position the old man refuses to adjust to. Calling out your own players or others is not your place anymore, you are now playing checkers, no longer chess.

Not in NYC atm. Thanks though, didnt know they were that general, might ask my brother to check the mall in the morning.

Yeah, unfortunately from 2011-2015 I didn't wear my sneakers. The ones I did happen to wear here and there, stood up and haven't fell apart yet. I knew it had gotten bad once my playoff and flu game 12's (2003) started to experience sole separation. Those things were built like tanks and to see them fall apart really shocked me. My girl was very sweet and got me the recent release of the Flu Games for my birthday this past October.

Sometime around 2015 when JB started releasing the OG colorways and heat again, I had gotten back into sneakers.

Besides, almost being 30 and owning my own PE shop made me give less ***** about things these days. I wear whatever the Hell I want, when I want. I even wear my Jordans into the office on Fridays now :lol

Lol, damn. Derrick literally accounts for half of the Knicks penetration

As a team, the Knicks average 21.4 drives per game—No. 29 in the NBA—and 15.1 points via drives per game—No. 24 in the NBA. As an individual, Rose averages 9.8 drives per game—No. 14 in the NBA—and 7.7 points via drives per game—No. 8 in the NBA.

In other words, Rose accounts for 45.8 percent of the Knicks’ drives and 51.0 percent of their points via drives on a per game basis.

These back problems are a terrible sign.

Cause it's not really the back that's the problem. It's his knees throwing off his whole posture and alignment.

That shows up in your lower back first because it has to carry the excess load.

D. Rose might need a minutes restriction.

That is one theory. But tbh Derrick has had a history of back spasms dating to before his knee issues. He took some hits on his back when he fell the game he started having spasms and it probably went from there.
