phil is an old, self-centered has been who still believes he's beyond reproach or criticism

eff that guy

it can't hurt to test the waters

Keep souring an already disgruntled young superstar?

Why?

I thought we were rebuilding around him? What the hell is going on with this franchise? :x :smh:

He won't be traded.

But say Boston called offering the 3rd pick this year, the Nets pick next year, another 1st, & Bradley/Smart, you wouldn't at least consider it?

Bro, you know there is absolutely 0 chance of this happening.

There's a reason you don't hear KAT or Embiid's name being tossed around in trade rumors. No competent front office would do that to a young franchise player. This is not how you give a young player confidence in their situation or instill a culture of stability. Same thing he did to Melo.

This is ridiculous.

He isn't going anywhere, just assessing his value.

If we suck years from now (and we probably will) they gonna be shipping him out anyways right....

perhaps, but what good does it do to even put that out there?

you put your star player in the crosshairs and send out the wrong message contributing to the knicks' reputation of being a failed franchise

Assessing his value for what? If you're not trading him, what are you trying to see?

He's the only piece we have and one of the most unique players the league has ever seen.

What good can come out of this?

Our players are already disillusioned and players/execs around the league view our front office as a joke.

How does this help in any way?

Team: 'Hey, what do you think about __ for Porzingis'
Phil: 'No thanks'

Team to Woj: 'We spoke to Phil about a potential trade for Porzingis

We haven't been in touch with KP since the season ended. Maybe he's tired of the circus already and they know there is a probability that he's bouncing during his free agency.

Yea but it's multiple teams contacting, which indicates he's open to offers.

If you shut down those inquires from the jump: "I'm not open to trading KP, we're building around him."...word would travel the same way, there would be no "frenzy", articles would read "KP, future Knicks cornerstone." and we wouldn't have this unnecessary media spectacle that constantly drains our players and makes us an undesirable team to play for.
