Of the 38 draft picks Danny Ainge has made, 0 have made an All Star game. The last Celtic draftee to do so was Paul Pierce ('98), per @espn.

damn

why on earth would houston want cp3 though? he doesnt fit D'Antoni's setup at all. Wayyy too slow. His motor isnt built for that SSOL style of play. He's a half court set guy. They'll lose some juice moving Harden back to the 2 spot.

People worry about fit way too much with Elite level players.

They'll figure it out. At the very least it's a beyond worthy gamble.

If the Rockets can get Chris Paul, you get him and worry about the rest later.

The rockets need ball handlers and secondary creators fit be damned

Fit is extremely important though. Then you who do you ask to adjust their style? Coach or Player? If Coach can't run his schemes and tempo because the players get gassed, then he can't be as effective as a coach because he's not using his strengths. If CP3 can't dribble the air out of the ball for 18 seconds and then run a play for an oop or 15 footer, then he cant be as effective as a player because he's not using his strengths.

Fit is extremely important. It doesnt matter who it is. It's why so many team executives didn't want Boogie. Everybody knows he's uber talented, but mentality, he wouldnt fit with most cultures around the league.

You act like it's impossible for him to make cap space

I'm sure that there are teams just waiting on pins and needles to take on Ryan Anderson's deal. It's more the point that every summer you hear Houston thrown in supposedly having interest with the top guys.

They 10 million under the cap as is ,with Ariza Beverley and Lou representing 20 more in expiring.
A GM worth anything should always go after the top guys, I'd be pissed as a fan if he didn't.

Not knocking him for putting his team in position but he’s basically the Danny Ainge of free agency.
