But y’all worried about Bauer’s personality/past actions?

I don’t think one situation really has anything f to do with the other, but I don’t think anyone in here is actually saying that.

Here’s my last comment on it -

That’s a good plan, but I’m ok if they play him (provider he can still pitch).

I think he’s a douche, but if he’s carried out the sentence that legal proceedings have determined are appropriate, then he should be able to play. Plus, I would think he’ll make an effort to be on best behavior now. And if he isn’t, then you sit him.

Think that’s where most of us stand, but if the consensus from the other guys on the team is that they really don’t want him around, I don’t think that can just be ignored.

If we were cutting Bauer...wouldn't it have happened already?

There has gotta be something going on...

I think who doesn’t want him around plays a part as well. If it’s respected vets like Kershaw and Betts. You can’t ignore that. If it’s lesser talented guys who are more expendable and who have less influence. You’re more inclined to make it work.

I can see how Bauer could rub people the wrong way. But any issues they may have. I’m pretty certain what happened with lady has nothing to do with it.

Another thing. After some of the recent playoff underachieving. I wouldn’t blame the organization if they pretty much said, you guys better find a way to make it work with Bauer. When you win 111 games and flame out in the NLDS, the feelings of a few guys in the clubhouse don’t hold the same weight as they would when you’re the defending world champs.

I read a tweet basically asking the same. That if the dodgers were so worried about the whole situation, why would they wait til the last second to “make a decision/cut him.” Another tweet I saw said dodgers have decided to release him if they can’t find a trade partner between now and the deadline.

it seems it has more to do with all the players not wanting him there because he is a jack A**

Another scenario I’ve heard is the Dodgers keeping him and waiting out for a trade where someone offers a couple mil to help offset the luxury tax bill.

He’ll take a spot on the roster but basically told to stay home

If he’s traded, I don’t see a team throwing the Dodgers any money. If anything I think the Dodgers would have to possibly eat some of the money owed considering the baggage attached to him.

At this point they should just bring him back and let him pitch. He has every incentive to behave and not rock the boat. And if he does rock the boat in even the smallest of ways, cut him loose.

They’re not even going to get 15 cents on the dollar for him. No need to cut him loose and someone else him pick him up who they might meet in October.

As for the players potentially not rocking with him. Bauers reputation wasn’t some hidden secret before he signed with the Dodgers. If they were that concerned about how his personality would fit in that clubhouse. They shouldn’t have signed him in the first place. Especially at the amount they signed him for.

These dudes choked in the playoffs last year and went out with a wimper. They’re in no position to be letting who they like or don’t like influence personnel moves. Especially when pitching is an area of need. They can have all of spring training to learn how to tolerate him.

reminds me of the movie Little Big League, one of the pitchers was a soon to be FA and didn't want to play for a kid and straight up said he was gonna tank his play. Instead of benching/trading/cutting Billy asked what the going rate on pitchers who cant find the strike zone is

edit: for sure the clubhouse atmosphere and PR hit is gonna factor in, but hard no on cutting him and letting another team pick him up
