Yup tough to see him go but it’s time. We need to see what these young guys got. I appreciate JT for all those great moments, would’ve been great to see him on our bench helping these next dudes but I understand the desire to still want to play.

I’m basically ambivalent about the team’s decision. Organization has indicated it views this next season as whatever anyway pending getting into the Ohtani sweepstakes next off-season.
Even if Bauer can still pitch after all the time off, he likely wasn’t going to have a big impact on how good/mid the team is. And we weren’t going to get much of anything in trade for him.
All in all, I can see why they decided just moving on from the whole fiasco was the best thing.

They played it safe and just said f it, we’ll eat the 22 mil. From a PR standpoint that makes all the sense in the world. Plus you’re not gonna get fans so “mad” that they didn’t keep him that are going to stop supporting the team. If they would have kept him, I think you get some fans on that side that would “stop” supporting the dodgers. Less people supporting = less cash. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters to the owners
