Any thoughts of developing Wade like we did Gardy? Our lineup is too RH heavy; (on the 09 team we had LH Damon, Matsui, Cano with SH Posada, Tex, Swisher, Melky) Wade unable to make adjustments at April paved the path for Miggy/Torres; Not loving Manny being Manny after Game 1 of NLCS; paying $35M/yr for a guy that doesn’t crack 100RBIs (same goes for Harper/Stanton) consistently but he has gold glove defense

Of our guys, Chapman is the oldest at 30 who will be here more than a couple years.

May be time to cash in on the farm system outside of Sheffield & Florial. With the talent we have on the MLB roster now in terms of our age, we could go all in for a 5 year run, and slowly re-build the farm system to be ready for then.

Looking at the roster, what we need is a Left Handed Bat in LF, 4 starters (again I want to carry 6 starters on the 25). Torres goes to SS, Disco Neil rides again at 2B.

I am against signing Machado for signing sake, just because Didi is going to miss the first half. Also give me Didi at 5 years over Machado at 12. Especially at SS. If Andujar didn't look like a stud this year, it'd be a different story. Then Machado at 3B would fit perfectly. But Machado wants SS. (Only way it works is if Machado agrees to 3B, Andujar then is full time DH, Giancarlo in LF)

I don't want Harper at 12 years either, but if we go for 1 big signing in the field, I have to go Harper. It's the better fit. Harper gets on base significantly more with similar power, and in Yankees stadium, even better. Also if you were to think of it from a business standpoint, as opposed to just baseball decisions, Harper will bring in more money for the Yankees than Machado

Sanchez, Voit, Walker, Torres, Andujar, Harper, Hicks, Stanton
Romine, ???,????, ???
DL: Didi

“I don’t want to speak for Hal, but my general feeling from him and for us has been not wanting to line the pockets of others to let them utilize that excess against us. It was mission accomplished in terms of the payroll this year, and taking away advantages that teams have been getting from us because we were exceeding those thresholds.” Cashman added, though, that he believes Steinbrenner’s “a very open-minded person” with respect to spending, perhaps leaving the door open for some big-money moves.

There's a chance we try to stay under the luxury tax of $206mil. If that's the case, we have a maximum of $70-80 mil to spend, and about 11 spots on the roster to fill.

Let's take some time to appreciate Masahiro. He was our best pitcher again when it mattered most, I sense a future ALCS or World Series MVP.

Was randomly thinking of old players the other day. Did anyone within the last like 10-15 years have a great season or two than fall off more than Wang? Dude was nasty that one year and then fell off quick

He hurt himself rounding 2nd IIRC in an interleague game vs Houston at the time?

I remember watching him lose his perfect game bid late into a game like it was yesterday.
