If that wrist is healed.

I can only imagine it is. They wouldn't put him in there if he can't swing.

Girardi wasnt a perfect manager but he was solid and got fired too quickly... he didnt make the playoffs his first year but his second year on the team he won the world series in 09 when we got the new stadium and new players... then last year we werent expected to be good with the young squad but was still 1 game away from the world series

he was no joe torre with the 5 rings but he also didnt choke an 0-3 series away :smh:

I wouldn't say he got fired too quickly. He was here for what, 9-10 years?

ya he was the manager in NY for a minute but just saying he didnt deserve to get fired and shouldnt of been let go...

I agree with you totally. After we lost I was hot but looking at the situation we really overachieved and he has to get a ton of credit for that. Once the news broke that he was actually fired I was shocked

Girardi would have been better than Boone though, I hate Boone. It's clear that the front office wanted a puppet, I don't like them either.

they almost found a way to **** it up
britton pitches are nasty and have always been its cuz of the passed balls that he gets into trouble

love to see Severino have a monster night. get these clowns teeth chattering a lil.

and Gleyber & Miggy are starting to scare me man. their defense is good for 1 mistake a game it seems, at the worst times ....

I’m still going to argue for Gary being a catcher.

His receiving is a problem. Sure. But the passed balls is really a small part of the position (I wish I could find the article where it breaks down the value of different catcher positives and negatives by numbers and how he makes up for it). He frames well, calls a good game, and has a cannon for an arm and typically does well throwing out runners.

No doubt on both sides it’s been a bad, terrible terrible year for him. If next year there’s another year like this then it’s time to find another spot for him. Whereas Bird doesn’t have any track record, and has warranted skepticism and you can move on and it’s not a big deal, Sanchez had a full year and the few months the year before it as above average defensively and all star level as a hitter.

Catchers typically are either one or the other. Great offensively and piss poor defensively. Or great defensively and terrible offensively.

If he’s decent everywhere else as a catcher. But struggles with passed balls. And hits like he did for a year +. You are looking for a perfect player. If he hits .180 and is injured all year again, then there’s reason to be mad

I can admit that I do have a blind spot for struggles. More specifically guys who have track records (I root hard for Bird because I want him to have an injury free year and his potential is wasted so far) But Romine in the grand scheme isn’t a better catcher than Sanchez long term
