OFFICIAL 2019 COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFFSEASON THREAD

"The commission found that the Maryland football team did not have a ‘toxic culture,’

but it did have a culture where problems festered because too many players feared speaking out,"

Your back on the Brohm train? I thought Purdue was trash

I was never "off" the Brohm train. I did think Purdue was very bad for the first half of this year and I'll admit maybe I was wrong. I never thought Brohm was a bad coach. Same way I never thought Herman was a bad coach. I did think their teams were playing ****** and I'm not one of those "they played tough and it was a good loss" people. I watched Purdue play Northwestern, Missouri, and Nebraska and I was unimpressed.

I think Ohio State was a good win but it was at home and tO$U was a bit overrated - they look like 2017 USC to me, in that they have some marquee primetime wins against teams that aren't as good as people thought they were (TCU and PSU; Stanford and Texas) and although they were undefeated they weren't playing GREAT box scores and hype aside. They looked prime for a letdown against a hungry team that could exploit their weaknesses on the o line and at linebacker. Witness called the Purdue loss same way casper90403 casper90403 and I told you last year Wazzu was gonna catch us. Ohio has one more loss left in them. This might finally be Harbro's year.

I'd take Jeff Brohm at USC yesterday. I've actually been thinking of making a list of people I'd like as HC at SC just for the hell of it and to rile up casper90403 casper90403 when I keep Tee martin on the list somewhere.

yeah, i dont take anything Cowherd says seriously. Can't stand him. Heard him mention Fisch. Didnt realize he was 42 years old and a coach on the Rams. Some USC people I talk to think he could bring on Kris Richard as DC. I don't know why Richard would do that.

I could see JDR being hired and hiring Fisch to be the OC.

Everything sounds awful. Lets see your list.

Wet dream:
Shaw
Stoops

If Cowherd was mentioning it, it means he's floated the idea to Fisch and Fisch would be willing. Cowherd just wants to be able to say "FIRST!"

I'll throw the list together when I get home.

DJ Uiagalelei 8th grade brother with the offer from Oregon. I see you Oregon. Smart.

But he's deserving. Kid is an animal and another physical specimen.

How long until Leavitt leaves? Can he get a decent head coaching gig?

Leavitt can't get a great HC job in the P5, and maybe not even a great G5. He's still got some stink from his physically assaulting that player at USF. Especially in this era, that's tough for admins to get around. Bring in a guy who has a history of hitting kids when he's angry and you're going to have to answer for it when he repeats the behavior. Kansas State allegedly offered him HC in waiting last year but he turned it down, probably because he knew Snyder would try to hand the job to his son regardless. Aside from that I haven't heard of any AD's even looking his way for HC openings.

Leavitt didn’t turn it down, Snyder nixed it when he found out about it.

Leavitt still has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave owing nothing to UO if he leaves for the KSU HC job.

Snyder’s done enough for KSU that he probably deserves to name his replacement, but this season on the field I’m sure has sapped some of his influence there so it’s going to be interesting to see what happens.

casper90403 casper90403 My list of coaches I'd be ok with SC hiring (in no particular order) and only realistic options:

- Jeff Brohm (and keeps our WKU coaching pipeline going)
- Todd Orlando
- Brent Venables
- Matt Campbell
- Bryan Harsin
- Neal Brown
- Ryan Day
- Jimmy Lake

Guys I've only started paying attention to in the last 2 years but I like what I've seen:
- Scott Satterfield (maybe... idk how he'd recruit out west)
- Seth Littrell

Long shots who could be looking and would be the best hires SC could possibly make
- Bob Stoops
- Urban Meyer
- James Franklin (I think it'd be dope to have a black coach, but I also have questions about his coaching style and wonder why PSU isn't more loaded talent wise)
- Pete Carroll

Guys I can be talked into because I'm tired:
- Jack Del Rio
- Joe Barry
- Kris Richard
- Chad Morton
- Ken Norton Jr.
- Josh McDaniels
- Jedd Fisch

What in the Chick-fil-A is going on at the UGA 247 Board? I saw some people squabbling in the Junkyard about Justin Fields leaving and decommitments/transfers tied to him. They just b**tching to b**ch or do some of stories have legs?

Loaded how? Like OSU?

PA don't produce talent like that anymore. Back in the day a program like Pitt could be nationally relevant just off the strength of WPA kids. Those days are over.

I know he's not sexy but why don't you guys give Whittingham a look?

Who cares about crooting you're SC, you're going to get kids. It's time to hire someone who can actually coach them.

Just bi***ing and moaning. No legs at all. Classic message board over exaggerations.

LOL. Insider saying Fields getting equal snaps on Saturday? This will end well.

Fromm has regressed from last season. He's just not playing confidently. That being said, Fields is an unknown commodity. We haven't seen him throw make meaningful throws, identify defenses, change protections, etc. For all Fromm's issues, hes still a top tier college QB and benching him for a true freshman is a stretch
