It's pretty clear kd is better. What characteristics are people looking for to still say Bron is the best? Especially when there's an argument he's not even top 5 playing today...

Why are these media types so shook to say KD is better than LeBron?

Honestly, its hard to gauge. KD is playing with 4 other all-star players which makes his job alot easier. He never has to face consistent double teams, has excellent floor spacing all the time because he plays with great shooters. Many other players would also thrive in that environment.

I know its a old, tired narrative to many NBA fans to knock KD for going to a 73 win team but lots of people feel that way. Especially NBA media personalities, who are usually retired players, who value "doing it on your own" and being "the man". People want to see him do it on his own and if he goes to NY or wherever, he'll have that opportunity. As long as he's on the Warriors with Steph he'll never have the 'best player in the league' title. Period. Especially when its debatable if he's the best player on his own team.

Like many have said before, sports is about narratives. The narrative with KD is that he went to an already great team, that won a title and won 73 games without him and he's more of an accessory than the primary reason they're winning. He's a snake, doesn't want to be the man, bandwagon jumper, etc, etc. Whether or not you believe that is up to you, but that's what KD is fighting against. He can average 40/10/10 and people still won't think he's the best.

Also, with KD going to the Warriors you'd think he'd be beyond the individual accolades. What drew him to the Warriors was the team-first approach. The big question is: does KD care enough about being known as the best enough to ruin a shot to win 4,5 or 6 titles?

KD is the best but its hard to people to see/admit it considering the team he's on

well see if he bolts next year, it would be fun to watch KD on a less stacked team

Becsuse 95% of them are “Bron’s guys”. He has the media guys littered with former teammates. A bunch of loyal hot take guys that sing his praise and move the goalposts 24/7 etc. Bron is business. Bron = clicks

Like KD said...”it isn’t even about basketball anymore”. It’s about narratives. And LeBron has set it up better than anyone post 2011. Part of me thinks it’s dope he empowered and can control it. The other part of me is disgusted...because it’s propoganda-ish the way he has his media members out there with talking points.

A large factor is there is a segment of nba fans and media that feel like LeBron is the rightful heir to be “the goat”....and the Warriors already stopped it...KD going there and then knowing him and Steph and the Warriors effectively will prevent LeBron from winning anything makes them shift it.

Bron can play on the 2012 & 2013 Heat (an incredibly stacked team with “4 all stars” and still has his place respected. KD beats the man headup and shows time and time again he’s at the very least on Bron’s level...and now they want him to “prove it elsewhere”.

It’s dumb.

And playing with great teammates, who just so happen to be good.

KD really doesnt have anything to prove to anyone.

People just want to see what he could do on a different team. Like the Knicks. Give the people what they want.

At the end of the day, he's already a top 20 player ever. It's all about what he wants next for his career. Does he value the titles over individual accolades? Does he just want a change of scenery?

Worst time zone? Shoot I love the fact I can watch both games and be in the bed by 10 instead of 1am....
Pacific time >>>>>>>>>> Eastern Time. There is an east coast bias though; most of the major media markets are in the Eastern time zone. I live in Cali now but I grew in on the East Coast. Games starting at 10:30 pm (usually means 10:45) and ending at 1 am is just awful. I usually didn't watch any non-playoff, non-early Laker home games

Right or wrong, you know it's not as simple as that. You see red with your Bron hate. Don't sound like Tyisny in here bruh.

I’m biased as *****. It’s grey area for sure. But you know there’s truth to what I’m saying. None of this is truly absolute. It’s a sliding scale with valid points on each end.

But you won’t sit here and tell me LeBron james is a better basketball player than Kevin Durant from 2017 to today just becaus “KD joined a 73 win team”.

Nah. I ain’t going. Especially NOW.

Lebron was better in 2017 and 2018, I'll give it to KD this season. I know what you're gonna say "but KD beat Bron in the Finals", "hit game winners in his face", etc. but believe it or not, when comparing 2 players people account for the level of talent on their respective teams. It's a crazy concept, I know, but people think that way.

Nah, there's no planet on which Lebron is better than KD right now. I thought you meant for all-time purposes with that specific point.

If you don’t think a Prime Kevin Durant...with another all star in the Eastern Conference...can beat the Pacers, Raptors and Celtics (missing their best player)...to get swept by a better team...you haven’t been paying attention and are sorely misguided.

I really don’t think y’all understand who KD is sometimes :lol like @P C H been saying...him (and Steph) been at “that level” got years now. James Harden & Kawhi slightly below.

Victor Oladipo led a pacers team to almost 50 wins and pushed a LeBron & Love team to 7 games...where one game was decided by a missed goaltending.

Kyle Lowry & Demar Derozen led team won 60 games and an ECF in that conference. Bron is undoubtly amazing. But let’s stop acting like he some one man force playing with a group of bums that he didn’t hand select. That’s further from the truth.

The real finals happened in the WCF last year. And James Harden led that.

No. That’s dumb. Bron (to me...is one of the top 5-8 players ever). KD ain’t there yet. No current player, playing is there yet. However...Bron hasn’t been “far and away the best player on the planet...that he’s been branded to be over the last 3 years) by the overwhelming majority of nba media, fans, etc. Other dudes caught up and he regressed. It’s become blasphemous to really have that convo tho. Which is sad.
