Tobias is such a weird case study for Free Agency and determining what he will get.

BK is a really good fit. Clippers again would be a good fit too.

Sixers can’t get away with the financial cost of Embiid, Butler, Tobias and then whatever Simmons extension or RFA in 2020 produces

I disagree.

It would just be those 4 dudes, cheap vets and rookies but they could do it.

The repeater tax wouldn't kick in until the 2022-2023 and who knows what the tax line would be at that point.

They can sign the Big 4and if you haven't made the Finals by 22, blow it up, restart and avoid the repeater.

Jimmy and Toby would have 2 years left and you could go into the 2022-2023 season with everyone and if things ain't looking good by the trading deadline you salary dump Jimmy and Toby.

Teams make 2Ms per playoff game just off ticket sales so deep playoff runs can offset the cost.

Question is MJ going to offer him the supermax?

Theoretically yes.

I guess it really all depends what the market looks like for Tobias, or if they can figure out a way to stay under the luxury tax in 2019-20. If they can, then it should be easy

If they can keep Tobias salary at a manageable level, yes. If not, I think they may shy away. Or sign him for a max if that’s what it takes, pay him for a year to give it one more run then trade him for whatever package of players they can get.

Kemba prolly getting that max. He deserves that money

Nobody better is going to Charlotte voluntarily, so it makes sense for the team to max him out. But I thought Kemba might want to go to place that gives him a better opportunity to win. He probably realizes though that he’s not going to be that close to winning a championship with any of the other teams likely to sign him. So, might as well get that money and not have to move.

I don't think he's taking less than the max or do I think they care about paying the dollar for dollar tax within reason.

No contending teams does. Especially when It's in a big market. Its when the repeater kicks in those buttholes pucker. :lol

I mean...obviously.

Would honestly rather let Tobias walk and use his 25-30 mill on depth though. He’s a good player but reallllly inconsistent and he’s gonna be ridiculously overpaid. There’s a lot of solid players in free agency this summer we can sign with that money.

You aren't going to have 25-30 in cap if he leaves and Jimmy stays.

Unless my math is wrong, they're going to have 31.58MM in cap space if they let everyone but JImmy, Embiid, Ben, Smith, and Bolden walk.

You still have to factor in the minimum cap holds to fill out the roster and the 23rd pick.

The non tax MLE also has cap hold but I don't know if they can renounce it or not.

Yea, that 31MM includes 7 roster spots. Didn't include the 23rd pick or the exceptions, but that's only 1.6MM and 3.3MM respectively.

They'll still have ~26.5MM to play with. And if they renounce the exceptions, that puts them damn near at 30MM.

Sixers are in good shape.
