Not only that but keeping money out of people’s hands usually doesn’t reduce costs in a meaningful way. Thought this tweet about the restrictions they want to place on the child credit was interesting.
Republicans and conservatives in general have always been full of ****.
Spiting minorities at the expense of poor and working class whites has always been integral to their belief system.
Their contempt for social safety nets ain’t never been about the money.

50K gotta be just for 2020 income right? I did my taxes and damn near fainted when I saw what I brought in last year compared to 2019.

I got my notice 1444b today confirming/stating I should have gotten my second stimulus check (which I did). Everyone missing their checks, look out for this in the mail. If you’ve gotten nothing, it may truly be lost and time to call your past bank/past addresses.
Everyone should be on the know about what tax bracket they’re in etc. I know some people who won’t work overtime in December in order to stay where they are. Every extra OT hour worked may be taxed some 5-15% higher, and to them it’s not worth it. Tax bracket or tax threshold
I know some who earn the EIC , which has really low cutoffs. But if you go a dollar above, you can lose a few hundred dollars worth of credits. Same with the retirement savings credit. If you go over by a dollar, some savings go from 50%, to just 20%. That’s a potential loss of $600 by working one extra dollars worth of time.

They said if they pass the stimulus provision that only gives checks to people making $50k or less that 70% of working Americans will qualify. Think about that. SEVENTY percent of Americans make 50k or less. That tells you all you need to know about America's quality of life.

Lots of arguments at play with their thinking
first they said the rich just save it and don’t spend it. Then they say the poor to middle class will put it towards bills which isn’t exactly stimulating the local pizza shop.I think there needs to be more of an influxof $$$, so all bases are covered. I know some pay check go pay check folks who spent frivolously, and likewise with the higher paid folks. Some are doing renovations they don’t really need to be doing.
We just need more. Stop the assumptions politicians.

You’re right. NOBODY is putting in those 60 hour weeks. People are lazy in this country and don’t want to WORK.

Biden campaigned on 10K and while the more progressive side wants 50k (or even all of it gone) that would be great for folks but I'm not putting too much into it getting through...yet.
10k needs to happen at minimum though since that's what Joe spoke on himself

i work hella hours because I want to but if you think you should HAVE to work 60+ hours a week to survive and if you don’t work 60 hours you’re lazy you’re part of the problem.
there’s a big difference between going ape **** on hours in a good paying job with unlimited ot and working two jobs paying 12 an hour.

Statistically speaking, almost every country that ranks higher in terms of average annual hours worked per citizen the lower the average salary is. So thinking Americans being underpaid is a sign of lack of work is nonsense
