The way I see it is they just needed a number. Any number would’ve been argued against. 99,000 versus 100,000 or 80,000 versus 79,000. They just made a stopping point with no real merit or reason as to why. If somebody knows any different I’ll stand corrected

what I'm trying to illustrate is that 80k is THE CEILING for maybe 8 out of 10 people...little less than half of Americans make "$15 or less."

Not factoring in cost of living is still the biggest error in these stimulus checks. 80k in DC is different than 80k in Charlotte. By no means am I saying you’re struggling off that salary, but your quality of life would be noticeably different.

that’s almost one of your paychecks each month after taxes. if you save 2k, you’ll have around 3k to spend. you pay a mortgage or rent? obviously you don’t have kids
