There were 100% rumors at A&M that Sumlin even early in his tenure was drunk in the building often. And that it started to spiral out of control towards the end to the point there were conversations about whether or not they could fire him for cause.

They ultimately decided that was a bigger headache than it was worth, but they at least felt they had a case.

Herman was worse because his whispers were alcohol, cocaine, co-eds, wives of other UT AD employees, strippers and all the swinger stuff… they were endless with Herman.
