They’re on the path to being back when they’re the first choice in Texas for kids from Texas.
This past cycle they won multiple recruiting battles against schools like A&M, Bama, LSU, etc. Same thing Miami and SC have been doing in their localities.
They still have a lot of work to do on the field but the point is they’re blue bloods finally behaving like blue bloods off of it.

Greg Johnson is on Twitter disappointed. Went undrafted but said he literally hasn’t been able to get a workout or tryout with a team and no one will meet with him. Great kid too. Graduated with his degree from SC and sadly was one of the only Hawkins High school blue chip kids that didn’t end up in trouble or jail

You go find one kid outside Kelvin Banks - whom they spend the farm one - in the last class they stole that A&M was aggressively recruiting.

If no one was hurt then meh. Reckless and he should sit a game, but not the end of the world.
If he was speeding while impaired under the influence of marijuana... then yeah, not a great look. Equivalent to an alcohol DWI/DUI.
Idk how aggressively Alabama prosecutes MJ arrests though.

That's probably not the first - or last - time Riley is going to publicly catch hell from other coaches for this.
Why would it negatively impact Pitt's recruiting? Because they're scrambling to find NIL opportunities to keep him there and telling other coaches to stop trying to talk their kids into the portal?
