I hear you, but when you’re young and trying to get established in a very hierarchical profession and the people around you are telling you that those kind of situations are just “how it works” it’s hard to say no. Or at least it used to be. Millennials and Gen Z seem, generally, to have an easier time saying no to things than older groups.
