This is a tough break for Kemba. He thought he was signing with Boston to be on a contender and now he's getting shipped for scraps. He still has two more years on his deal so he probably won't get bought for a long time.

Also, I wonder what Boston's plans are with Al Horford. Will he actually play or did they just want the expiring? Also, what does this mean for Tristan Thompson?

OKC doesn't do buy-outs. Kemba is going to have to be a good soldier next season, then Presti will send him away like he did Chris Paul.

Kemba's about to become the new IT :smh:

Presti is a wizard though, flipping Horford for the 16th pick and Kemba

I wouldn't call Sam Presti wizard. He's just willing to allow his franchise to become a dumping ground for bad contracts while they rebuild. He's not really a genius for taking on the remaining two years of Kemba's contract, he just understands where his franchise is currently situated.

Also, what is their end game here? They have more draft picks than roster spots over the next couple of years. I'm assuming they're going to take a big swing for a free agent, but who?

Funny how Sam Hinkie got slandered for this. Literally the same thing, allow younger players to develop, take on bad contracts to get picks, buy out veterans or trade them

Kanter > Melo > Schroder > Danny Green/first rounder > Horford/first rounder > Kemba/first rounder

:lol

The irony in all this

Cs didn’t wanna give Horford his money in 2019. He got it from Philly just for Boston to now pay it in 2021 when he’s 2 years older

shambles

Except the Celtics will actually utilize him right. That Sixers team was the dumbest roster spacing wise.

Al actually showed something when he got to OKC.

Got swept swiftly.

It’s nothing about fit. The point was the salary. He left for more money since Boston wasn’t giving it

now Boston is paying him that money he wanted while also being 2 years older

Getting off Kemba's salary frees up cap. That was the point. Get someone who is a fit and move off Kemba's $73M. Moses Brown is the real prize here TBH.
