Probably to draw an easier parallel and I think that’s about how many games in a row that he’s been the sure fire starter

Just now catching up on the Ed Reed situation with that janky school.

And people wanted Deion to hang around dealing with the same type of nonsense. It's hard to go to work when you the only one putting in effort.

But Ed didn’t know that HBCUs were extremely underfunded going in? Going in trashing the administration and people working there before you’ve even started the job is wack. The idea that Ed Reed was “the only one putting in effort” is just nonsense and insulting to the many people who look like us who work there. WE know why HBCUs are in the state they are and we have to be cognizant of why they were founded in the first place. Ed should just go to a P5 and cut his teeth as an assistant if that’s what he wants to do. He just wants to use the gig as a springboard to catapult his coaching career — and if that’s the case, so be it but his behavior was extremely wack.

You listen to what he was saying about corruption? You see that field? He just making that up?

C'mon man. We know HBCU's are underfunded. That's part of why Deion and Ed even took those jobs, to help. These schools ain't THAT underfunded to where you can barely have a field. The structure is trash at these schools flat out.

They took those jobs to cut the line to be a head coach without going through the hurdles they would have to otherwise, aint have nothing to do with helping out the HBCU's, that was just happenstance

Why was Deion giving back part of his salary and using his connections to help the kids get suits so they look a certain way? Stuff like this is why Deion bounced.

Do you think corruption only happens at HBCUs? When you don’t have a massive budget like PWI athletic departments, then the misappropriation of funds just stand out more. Corruption damn sure ain’t specific to HBCUs and it’s lazy as hell for him to even posit it as corruption being the reason why BCU is in the position it is. Especially from the dude who hasn’t even been there long enough to fully understand the lay Of the land there.

What kinda argument is that?

Because corruption happens other places we gon sweep this under the rug? If that's your mindset it's really nothing else to talk about.

Once you're in the system you're more inclined to help the system. Same reason coaches at a bunch of other schools make donations to the program. Helping the program helps them to a point. Not the only reason they do it obviously but doing it doesn't make you a savior

That’s literally not what I said. Trashing Bethune like there’s some unique corruption going on there is wack.

Good article by Bill Rhoden on the whole thing. Ed Reed handled this like a clown, and not like someone who wants to lead a program at a HBCU full of young Black men should. If his idea of leadership is public child like tirades trashing for employer and claiming that you’re a “change agent” before the ink even dries, then yea, probably not going to work out.

So is the corruption wrong or not?

Is it a properly run school or not?

This is simple. Ed took less money to go there, he coulda stayed at Miami. You saying he don't wanna help?

Who said corruption isn’t wrong? My point is that Bethune is no more corrupt than any other institution nationwide.

It’s a school that isn’t in the big business of sports. Literally not the mission of what Mary McLeod Bethune Cookman was founded on. It’s not meant to be a Bama or LSU or Texas.

He wasn’t even on staff at Miami. He was a glorified mascot that Manny Diaz hires when his seat was hot. He may want to “help” but he didn’t behave how a leader of any company, organization, business line, etc. should. Especially in a public facing role where he has no equity in the company.

He was the chief of staff at Miami. Call what you want he coulda stayed there for money.

But again this is why Deion left and why in the future dudes will be hesitant to take these jobs. The program is already janky. The corruption is rampant and if you don't do everything that everybody wants you to do they'll rip you for it.
