Basically the scraps of leather is processed into pieces ... think particle board of leather

Exactly. Bonded leather is just a bunch of scraps smashed together with glue, and then a fake grain added to it

END pair arrived ... it woulda been nice to have a decent grade of suede (akin to the Gym Reds) it woulda gave this pair a more vintage feel then the scratchy/nappy grade of suede used.
