Dude has a good point :emoji_thinking:

I mean we call Kevin Durant’s shoes by his nickname “KD” I think MJ would’ve taken up a nickname on court that would’ve reflected the shoes. We also don’t call LeBron’s shoes “James,” even though we obviously call MJ’s shoes “Jordans” same thing with Kobe as well.

If I get em at $1200, doesn't look like I'd have much of a hard time getting that back and then some in the near future if I decide to focus on another pair or pairs. But if I want them, better at $1200 now than $1400-1500 in the near future

People said this about Royals in 2015 and 2016 though. At that point, we only had retros in 2001 and 2013, respectively. The 2017 retro KILLED those sky high resale prices.

If I sell em back it'll be long before the arrival of the next Chicagos drop and whatever impact that would have

I couldn’t justify spending over a stack or even anything close to that for a pair of kicks! I had a pair of Chis and bought another one for resale years ago (2016) from Sole Supremacy for 375 and I thought that was too much lol.

If you want them badly, I say grab em! I could hear that angel on my shoulder constantly tapping me to not do it

GS sneakers are becoming harder and harder to get.
tried for the court purples rn on snkrs and it said i got in line and then didn’t really put me in line and when i didn’t it again the size was sold out.
This
Up until the Courts, GS pairs were easy to get. I had no issues before.

not like it was a mass drop
it was a slight restock

There’s super subtle differences to all panels of the cut, which eventually as a whole makes the ‘85 and ‘94 look different.

to answer what MJ wore, he wore the original ‘85s in the final MSG game.

Similarities:
Pretty much just heel counter and the straight back profile

‘85
-overall profile is very slim
-ankle panel and padded underlays are shorter in length
-wings logo fills the ankle panel
-the swoosh tapers from being thin to a fat belly swoosh. The tip of the swoosh is also pronounced. All these qualities make the swoosh look bigger and fills up the quarter panel
-the quarter mudguard near the mid foot is shorter
-the toe mudguard is all shorter. The distance between the tear drop and the midsole is a lot shorter.
-the midsole has more of a curvature in its form. From a side profile you can see the curve from the back to the midsection just based on the top of the midsole.

‘94
-overall profile is larger in the quarter panel section, but the tapers off towards the toe
-ankle panel is a bit longer
-wings logo loses weight
-the swoosh loses weight and starts to look more like a dunk/Air Force swoosh, making the quarter panel behind appear larger
-quarter mudguard is a lot higher (where the first 3 lace holes are towards the bottom) which also contributes to the large quarter panel
-toe mudguard is a bit larger but still tapers towards the toe. The distance from the tear drop to the midsole is further
-midsole has less curvature, and a more linear look from a side profile

the og ones from 2015-present take more cues from the ‘94 than the ‘85, while the new beginning ones are a excellent retro of the ‘85

lol before anyone comes in a blasts me for this nerdy breakdown; my profession is industrial design, and a big part of design is noticing these subtle differences and how big of change just adjusting lines and curves can do. I’ve been looking at these shoes for years, and I’ve seen the differences throughout the years. My guess is they made the jump from the super streamlined profile of the ‘85 to the larger ‘94 profile due to the fitting and comfort.

how did you get duped on those fake ROTYs with all that attention to detail? lol

 just busting your balls

Omg  I’ll admit I was so ignorant and impatient on legit checking and I thought I saw a good deal to jump on right away. Honestly the eBay pictures looked so good yet it was deceiving because the angles. It was very odd after the purchase because the seller removed the whole listing right away so I couldn’t refer to the pictures that were posted.

Also surprising he didn’t even question my return request nor refused it even when he stated no returns in the original post. Most likely he knew what he was selling and thought he can get away smoothly. I’m glad everything went smooth and I got my money back:lol:

They’re not what they should’ve been but with less than 3 days out I’m starting to turn on royal toes :smh:. Jacques Slade’s video doesn’t help and actually makes these look good next to Fragments. These may just be the closest to Frags that I’ll ever get. I ain’t s***.
