Nike seeing y’all pay that on resell and figured why not just pay them that 😂
That’s funny, but in all honesty I’m surprised that Jordan 1s are still going for less than $200 retail.

i could easily see them creating a tier system where the hype colorways like Lost & Founds, Taxis, Lucky Greens go for $200.

…while the Brotherhoods and Gorge Greens remain at $170-$180.

:smh:

They all fake *** leather. Go watch AnvilRose. It will crush the spirit of 99% of the debates about “butter soft leather” and all the garbage marketing we hear. The ones are straight dookie. Even the shattered backboards. It’s all anecdotal “this leather is amazing!!” Bs.

AnvilRose a real one for what he does and I’ll keep posting his name here cuz honestly we’re straight getting hosed by JB /Nike.

At least we don’t still have the clowns comparing every pair to “sHaTtErEd bAcKbOaRd 1 LeAtHeR”, that got old super quick

idk if im even interested with out seeing them in person, but whats the difference between a $1300 LV trainer and a $1300 jordan 1 low IF nike actually comes with the luxury treatment? or is the assumption that nike is going to try and slap a $1300 price tag on $150 shoes just cause?

Yeah we will see if they are top grain leather and made in Italy, but I doubt it... and even if they are its still an easy pass for me.

Just sold two more pairs of shoes.

Purchase of Royal 1s is imminent.

Initiating tractor beam.

Going down a half size on this one.

Repeat...going down a half size.

Target acquisition sequence code Delta-Charlie-Alpha-Bravo-Tango-MJ-Foxtrot.

If it looks as good as it does on paper, we're in the kill zone.

...lock and load.

The latest royals were roomy but I went TTS.

If they're at all similar to the size 11.5 Breds that I bought, then a half size down is the way to go for me.

It's entirely possible that my tts is an 11, not 11.5, but the last time I had my foot measured in the metal proctology contraption, they told me I'm an 11.5.

So I may very well be in between sizes.

I don't think I've ever bought a nike or jordan brand product for the quality of the materials used. Colorway trumps all. If they're also good quality, that's a nice bonus. Best example I can think of is when I got the 2013 chi 1's that felt like PVC pipes. But I love chi 1's and happily wore them for years until I found a pair of 95's. But if I didn't find the 95's, I'd still have rocked the retros because the chi 1 is one of my favorite shoes.

Idk how anything that rose anvil put on youtube was news to anyone on this forum. Nike isn't a billion dollar corporation because they give us the best products, they got their money by cheaping out on as many things as possible in order to maximize their profits. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you want quality footwear, go buy from brands like alden, yuketen, paraboot, viberg, white's, etc. - smaller scale companies that have more control over their materials and manufacturing.

retail for jordan 1 diors was what $2000? retail for the LV x off white air forces was $2700. Im not sure if id say theyre "worth retail" but if folks are using $1300 LV trainers as the bar and think thats acceptable , i dont think nike will have issues meeting that relative level of quality at a $1300 retail price point.

whether or not the execution in terms of colorway/color blocking and luxe factor make people want to pay that pricetag, thats another question

All this is true. The irony is that back in the OG days, Jordans were the best quality sneaker (for a non-luxury brand). They had the best tech with relatively nice materials. It is what it is, and I continue to buy b/c of nostalgia and the fact that I still think the designs are freak'n amazing. It would be great if they went back to OG type materials and comfort (yes, back then jays were super comfy for their time). Even that means they need to protro the lineup with zoom, react foam, etc. I'd replace my whole damn collection for that!

Back in day alot of people were not rocking Jordan's so it was small batches unlike today they mass produced

One is made by impoverished people in a sweatshop in Asia and the other is made by far better paid people in an Italian factory. Both are insanely marked up but Nike/JB are marking up more on the $1300 trainers because they are still being made by people in a sweatshop.

There's levels to "Made in white people country" tags on clothes and goods

I'm not above anyone else here. I'm a product of capitalism and globilization as much as the next American. Labor conditions aren't something that we as consumers can control, unfortunately. But I think it's important to be aware of what we consume, what goes into our products, and then we can learn how to better our practices. I could write an essay on what goes into my purchasing decisions, I won't now though. My point here is that Nike and LVMH are multi billion dollar mega corporations that could do everything so much better if they wanted, from product quality to paying livable wages to manufacturing sustainably, but they won't.
