Official AUTHENTIC NBA JERSEY Post - Bringin Back the JERSEY ERA... (Info/Guide = Page 1)

Yea but that's the past and I want a Rev30 Dino jersey this season. I'm willing to pay $300 for it but Adidas keeps selling crap with painted twill numbers at their tourist trap flagship store and poorly managed online site. Sorry for the rant but I think there's a clear disconnect with the consumers.

been saying this. But honestly you, me and everyone else in threads like these around the internet are a small minority.

the larger majority of jersey buyers are the average basketball fan who just buy swingman, replica, youth etc. They don't care that the jersey is to the exact "on-court specifications", they just want team merch or their favourite players look-a-like jersey.

so really they could probably care less about the minor group who would willingly give them what they feel is worth charging for the real deal.

part of that comes with sizing too, no average fan wants a jersey that they see fits them like its a 6XL because its not made for their body type.

I agree with Bert. Bert.

Most likely will amount to nothing. The league, owners, and the "bottom line" is much bigger than any one players endorsement deal.

It might simply be stated that X sponsor is sponsoring the TEAM, not the individual player, and the player is technically an employee of the sponsored team so the player has to adhere to team/league guidelines. The other side of that coin could be certain players having small individual patches for their respective sponsors...but now we're just getting crazy and making a case for more jersey clutter. Devil's Advocate...

I think it reaches further in than just a player's endorsement deal. What if the player's strong beliefs aren't into the sponsor on the jersey? Or even deeper religious beliefs? You have a pork brand sponsored on the jersey and you have an individual who is Muslim, are you saying that they have to be forced to wear the jersey because the league said so? Just curious because it could happen. How are sponsors chosen for what teams they want to represent? Bids per individual teams? With the NBA?

It's all about the brand and money

Doubt a pork company will have an ad on the jersey

If you have an issue with Sony, McDonald's, or some other company then you have some kinda of mental disorder and if you want you can not wear the jersey and not get paid

If a player makes a big deal about a small ad then they are an idiot

Hey guys if authentic shorts pop up at any of your stores for cheap hook me up, thanks

i'm still curious as to how the league would react if a player just covered the sponsor logo up like how jordan put the usa flag over the reebok logo in what i think was the 92 olympics.  hell if the sponsor logo is small, i doubt the refs would even notice, if the player made no mention of it.

same with sleeved jerseys.  lebron complained about them before.  what could the league really do if a player cut the sleeves off his jersey for comfort purposes. aside from no sleeves, the uniform is the exact same.

Don't forget about this either.

jordan is an owner, so i can see him getting away with it, but i wonder how the powers that be would react if players decide to do something similiar when that time comes.

Remember when the league changed the game balls years ago then complaints rose about them so they brought the OG ones back? I think there should be a fine line when it comes to advertisement on jerseys.

Just to clarify, the Bulls had Champion alternate pinstripes for 95-96 and 96-97 (gold logo man) then switched to Nike 97-98 and the alternate lost the pinstripes, right?

Also, the Champion replicas from those first two seasons of the 2nd 3-peat were sans pinstripes?

Yep, they switched to the black alternate in 97-98. For replicas, I think Champion made them with the pinstripes. thing is Champion kept making replicas even after Nike took over so you can find the all-black version as well.

The Jordan usa thing is ages ago

If a player were to cover up a logo for some reason it's def a huge fine

And that Jordan Bobcats is a non issue, he's not a player :lol he covered up the logo because he has his own company. Idiotic to pretty much be in front of media with an Adidas logo on his chest.

Again I think some of you are going to far :lol

How does a patch affect how the player plays...?

My point is that something was changed and later reversed.

I don't know how sponsorship choices will work with teams, but as I alluded to in my other post, a porky pig patch & a religious belief obviously doesn't mesh well. If you have a player that has strong beliefs, that's obviously going to affect the player mentally and perhaps monetarily should they choose not to play. It's the extreme opposite end of the spectrum but in that case, the league needs to understand that fine line of sensitivity.

That would explain why I've got a Champion Replica alternate with no pinstripes. I just thought the Replicas had no pinstripes full stop.

Look at some of the older champion replica jerseys. They really weren't detail oriented. No pinstripes on the Orlando, navy rockets, and hornets jerseys, the lakers numbers were way bigger then they were supposed to be, the stripe on the blazers jerseys was was too small, as was the sun on the suns jerseys, another example with be the side panels on jerseys like the spurs and teal pistons, the older run champion jerseys overlooked stuff like this.

If you look at replicas from 97-98 on though they were much more detail oriented, I had a penny replica and a reversible jersey I got in 99. Both had the pinstripes on them, same with hornets jerseys. The sun on the suns jerseys was much bigger as well. Same with the navy rockets jerseys, I had a pippen one and it had the pinstripes on it, compare this to the Hakeem I had in 96 which didn't have the pinstripes.

From 97-98 to the 00-01 seasons, champion made some good replicas that focused on details, especially when you compare them to their older counterparts.

They started slacking in 01-02 though, their last year they could make jerseys, I remember seeing Jordan wizards replicas those year with the long shoulders like what the 76ers wore back then even though wizards jerseys weren't like that.

Whats up boys been a while. Couple purchases recently!
