I heard Gladiator on blu-ray is below most standards :-\

I made the worst blu-ray purchase ever

Season 5 of the Office..

I love the show.. but everytime I watch this.. I think I could have gotten this on DVD and been just as happy with it. I didnt see any of season 5 though, soits all new to me

I've heard mixed things about Gladiator on blu-ray.

Blu Beaver (aka DVD Beaver) said it's excellent.

Blu-ray.com HATED it.

Film restoration expert Robert Harris isn't crazy about it.

Bring this post back!!!

A handful of excellent movies are coming out on Blu within the next few weeks/months.

Did anyone get The Wizard of Oz??? I have heard nothing but great reviews about it. I love this movie and will be picking it up tonight!

i wish i could watch blu-rays right now. My PS3 got the yellow light of death, and i dont even wanna get into it with my dad about the blu ray player in myparents' room. I JUST signed up for Netflix too...sitting on 3 blu rays i cant even touch

Monsters vs. Aliens looks wonderful. As all digital animated movies do.

The 3D short film was pretty cool too. About 14 minutes long so not too much strain on your eyes.

Is it worth buying old flicks on Blu-ray? Are they improved a whole lot over their upscaled-DVD counterparts? I'm asking cos I wanna pick up Ran on Blu-raybut if there isn't much change in picture quality I might just cop the dvd and save a bit of cash.

Read the reviews. Some say there are movies that aren't worth buying on Blu. Other says the Blu Ray version is better. Wizard of Oz isamazinggggg imo.

All depends. I say you do a little research before hand. On the plus side, the older blu's that are coming out are cheaper.

Yeah check out avsforum.com and the Blu Ray section....The PQ thread is great

To the NTer who posted the gohastings deal...you are the man!!!

I got like 8 or 9 blu's for $70. Used condition but let me tell you, they basically just took off the shrink wrap and said it was used. One movie I got wasBRAND NEW.

Go hastings has 30% off now.. Monsters vs. Aliens, I Love you Man, Observe and Report are all $13.99
Snow White Blu-ray Drops to $9.99 with Promo Code
We know that many of you have already taken advantage of the amazing Amazon 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Blu-ray deal, but also realize that even at that ridiculously low price, some were hesitant. To those holding back, be aware that Amazon has dropped the price of this Disney classic to $19.99, meaning that when you use the "snowhite" promo code, you pay just $9.99!

For less than $10 you can own the Blu-ray (and DVD) of one of the most popular and classic Disney animated features of all time, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. But you must hurry, because the title is being released tomorrow, so the window for using the "snowhite" promo code is likely limited.

For those who have already taken advantage of this amazing deal when your price was $14.99, no need to re-order. Amazon's "Pre-order Price Guarantee" promises to give you the lowest price between when you order and the title is released, so you automatically get this lower price as well.

Walmart Gets Exclusive Transformers 2 IMAX Blu-ray

Posted October 7, 2009 01:21 PM by Josh Dreuth

Michael Bay According to "nelson", the forum admin for the official Michael Bay forum (and confidant of the world famous director), Walmart has exclusive rights to sell the IMAX version of 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' Blu-ray. This version is roughly a minute longer (featuring extended fight sequences) and will "open up" the aspect ratio during IMAX film scenes (similar to 'The Dark Knight' Blu-ray).

'Revenge of the Fallen' is currently scheduled to hit store shelves on October 20th.
