Regarding MonaCoin......they are set to halve in like 25 days.  If you don't understand what halving is, bitcoin did the same last year 2016 and the price prior to the halvenning was btc always at around $250....then it just mooned from there.  Google bitcoin halving for more research.

Also, here is Vitalik explaining what halvening is:

“The main reason why this is done is to keep inflation under control. One of the major faults of traditional, “fiat”, currencies controlled by central banks is that the banks can print as much of the currency as they want, and if they print too much, the laws of supply and demand ensure that the value of the currency starts dropping quickly.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is intended to simulate a commodity, like gold. There is only a limited amount of gold in the world, and with every gram of gold that is mined, the gold that still remains becomes harder and harder to extract. As a result of this limited supply, gold has maintained its value as an international medium of exchange and store of value for over six thousand years, and the hope is that Bitcoin will do the same.” ~ Vitalik Buterin, Bitcoin Magazine.

Wanted to get in Mona around .33 but couldn't do it because of this renovation. Hopefully a nice pullback happens. Wanna get some sc too.

to me its ethics.  I know, most of you are all about the $$$ and that is great.  I am too, but what ETC did was (at the time it forked) start attacking ETH and for what reason? it was soley for their benefit and to create a secondary chain where "they" can have their own council.  If you look at ETC tx chain, there are millions of ETC still in a dao attacker address that is just waiting for the opportune time to dump their ETC into the market.  Do you really want to fund a hacker that is just waiting for the best time so YOU can make them $$$?

If you block out all the noise and are a newb and dont know the history, then totally cool....etc may look awesome and a great investment.  But if you're coming from that angle...go loook at coinmarketcap --->assets....... who or what future tech/devs believe in them??  1 total token under the ETC chain??

For comparison, go check ETHEREUM [ETH].

**These are my points of view, so do your research accordingly.  Good luck
i could care less what ETC did and about the hacker.  im here to make money and etc still has room to go up but my price target is not there yet so ill wait it out

yessir. bought at .31 so still holding. i actually believe in this coin since it is actually WORKING IN REAL LIFE! lol.

they have japanese stores accepting it, and mona can now be used at ATMs.  I'm not even thinking about selling these til its 1:1 with usd.  We'll see!

you @geePlus??
Yea i got in around .48 Because of your tip. Still holding just wanted to hear some input, and thanks for the breakdown on the halves as well.

worried about my bittrex account, didn't post on here but last week soon as I made an account and threw money on it, an hour later I got a phishing email and very authentic looking one for "apple" :{ obviously something or someone in the system can see accounts because I never click **** nor visit any weird stuff and rarely use my legitimate email other than for important stuff so it was very scary and odd

So apart from the moneymakers- how do the techies feel about this whole move?

I remember when blackberry was releasing bb10. Apple was dominating and google store had also just became huge. They were paying developers $10,000 just to develop any app. A buddy told me "a platform can only be as successful as its developers."

Are the developers hyped for this tech? Is it really the new internet? Hope some of the tech guys can comment

Still too early, and most of the companies coming out only have a PDF describing their concept while raising millions. The idea behind a blockchain is revolutionary, but there is a huge problem with the way chains and mining works today. At this point almost everything is pure speculation with very little substance. Decentralizing transactions was the original concept, but people fail to realize the entire system is controlled by a just a handful of people.

I still think it's here to stay, but it will undergo a major change before the technology is widespread. I'm a developer if that matters.

The technology is what brought me into crypto (bitcoin originally then ethereum after).  The blockchain protocol is a game changer.  Bitcoin is just a payment system, but if you break down the concept of the tech behind it, being a ledger that can validate without centralization is mind blowing.  Soon you will be able to put marriage certs, birth certs, housing forms, anything that needs to be notarized....can all be validated on the blockchain.

Is it the new Internet, yes.  When the Internet started booming in the early 90s, it too was the wild wild west.  Everyone was skeptical on it, and those that believed in it prospered...BIG TIME.

Say if Bitcoin fails and crashes.....you think the blockchain is worthless?  The platform is revolutionary.....when Netscape, Earthlink, and soon to be Yahoo fail(ed)....did the Internet disappear?? NO.   It's a protocol like TCP/IP or EMAIL.  The technology will always be there.  You can't un-invent this technology...you can't turn this omelette back into eggs.

You gon end up losing money when you buy back in. We all know that its gonna be back up to $300+ this week. Easiest money ever.....

If you're able to buy right now.

Looks like GDAX is still taking orders while coinbase is down. Smart thing to do might be buy BTC in coinbase and transfer to GDAX account for free. Buy ETH with that

The way I see it - when there's a blood bath and everything is in the red - All the coins are on sale and this gives me the opportunity to cop more at some good prices and flourish
