OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

What condition is it in? Unless it's NM/M sounds like alot.

I found both. Guy said he'll work on a price for near mint. He wants $110 but can knock sole off of it.

The Mint/Perfect, he wants $145.

X-Men 266 is where they introduce Gambit into X-Men.

Looking at previous sales those prices are on par.I guess the movie speculation fueled the price increase. Used to be a lot cheaper.

This is THE MOST hilarious thing I've come across. This guy is BEYOND DELUDED

:rollin :rollin :rollin

This is why I love the internet. Without it I probably am never made aware of this guy and his delusions of grandeur. Dude is like the guy who thinks he created Deadpool calling Liefeld a thief x10000000000

Parts that had me crying:

From Owl Knight’s Quickening he stole my new beginning the perimeter wall around Towne City that protects the city from the Monkey People and put it in the movie World War Z as the Israel perimeter wall, built to keep out the zombies that act more like Monkey People than zombies. World War Z was based on a 2006 book but the Israel Perimeter Wall was a Hollywood rewrite. The Movie World War Z was made by the film company responsible for Kick-*** 1, Plan B Entertainment.
He put the Towne City Perimeter Wall around Mega City One in the movie Judge Dredd. Also in Judge Dredd there are arbitrary shots of skateboarding like in Owl.
He also put a perimeter wall around the city in the Fox TV show Almost Human.
It is possible Mark Millar put the Towne City Perimeter Wall in the Movie Pacific Rim as well.

Son said Millar hacked his phone from Algeria to steal more material!

IS THIS REAL LIFE? :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

Damn, son has a date and time and everything :lol

I certainly understand the issue a writer would have with another person stealing his/her ideas and work, but you've got to be realistic with yourself when it comes to things like this.

In the movie The Avengers Black Widow wraps a chain around bad guy’s leg then pushes him over a ledge where he dangles. Where as Owl wraps a cable around Dr. Morikaido’s neck and kicks him out of a helicopter where he dangles. .

I've seen that same exact type of scene play out in freaking childrens cartoons. :lol Come on now.

Rare element in Avengers is Iridium. Rare element in Owl is Cotonium.

This especially just isn't anything new. There's a ******* trope based off the idea.

Unobtanium

Marvel alone has Adamantium and Vibranium, and those are just the ones that I know. Doesn't even take into account things like Kryptonite in DC (Which i'd wager is one of the most famous examples in history). Precious rocks and metals like that are common as hell in fiction. Dude sounds so damn silly. :{

Is Infinity Gauntlet a good read for someone who doesnt read comics?

i imagine it would seem pretty trippy and weird to a non comic reader. The dialog and the writing is def not modern, and would probably seem over written and cheesy to a modern reader.

its fun tho, but probably not where I would start.

Did you like The Civil War film? Try Ed Brubaker Captain America run. (series that created the Winter Soldier concept)

Did you like Gaurdians of the Galaxy? Try Abnett and Lannings Gaurdians of the Galaxy run.

I thought GOTG was dope but I'd rather read something with characters that I'm more familiar with. I may peep that Captain America one tho

well fyi infinity gauntlet centers around Adam Strange and Thanos the more well known characters tend to be supporting characters if i remember correctly, so just beware I guess :lol

Try the new Secret Wars series that just wrapped up if you want to read a big crossover that is reads like a more modern story.

but like with all big crossovers, you might be lost a little at first.

Starlin's work is pretty trippy and purposely dealing with philosophical stuff in a space setting.

Infinity Gauntlet from a superhero angle is a typical fun read but it's a bunch of deep **** in all of that. Like the exposition stuff is real detailed exposition. Starlin was expanding children's vocabularies hard.

been watching a ton of those comic explained videos, I like that dude. just went over the whole punisher vs the marvel universe one. that was a good one.

Damn. Cooke was a great artist, loved his style and story telling.

Just yesterday I'm hearing that he has cancer and next day he passes :{ Taken way too soon.

Wait what??? No way man :\. I just read that he had cancer earlier this week, had no idea how far along it really was :{. It was literally like 2 or 3 days ago. Always enjoyed dude's 50's pop art style and he was a pretty good writer as well. Loved his JLNF and his Before Watchmen stories were the highlight of that series imo. RIP |I

New Logo Design Celebrates DC Brand’s Past, Present and Future

Logo to Debut on May 25 Release of ‘DC Universe: Rebirth Special #1’ by Geoff Johns

DC Entertainment announced a new identity and logo for its iconic DC brand. The new DC logo is a mark that leverages over 80 years of heritage with an eye toward the future.

“While comics continue to be the heart and soul of DC, the brand has evolved to now stand for powerful storytelling across so many different forms of media. DC is home to the greatest Super Heroes and Super-Villains, and the new logo has the character and strength to stand proudly alongside DC’s iconic symbols,” stated Amit Desai, DC Entertainment Senior Vice President of Marketing and Global Franchise Management.

“The launch of the new logo is the perfect tribute to DC’s legacy, exciting future and most importantly, our fans.”

The new logo will debut on the cover of the highly-anticipated DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH SPECIAL #1 comic book written by Geoff Johns releasing May 25 and available in comic book shops and digitally. REBIRTH represents the next chapter in the ongoing saga of the DC Universe, mixing traditional values and a modern aesthetic.

“I’m very proud that REBIRTH will be the first comic book published with the new DC logo.” stated Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer. “To me, REBIRTH and the new DC logo are built on what’s come before while looking to what will come tomorrow. I can’t wait for people to see it on the cover.”

The new DC branding will be introduced immediately on various digital platforms, including DC websites, social media channels, DC All Access webseries, and DC All Access app and will continue to rollout worldwide across all DC content and products. One of the many benefits of the new logo design is its versatility to showcase DC’s iconic and timeless characters and stories across all media. Look for the new logo to come to life at key events in the coming months.

The new identity and logo were developed in partnership with Pentagram, the world’s largest independent design consultancy.

I was in the local shop today and saw Civil War II #0 and almost picked it up. Then I realized I'm not about that crossover event life anymore. I can't do it man. I just want good self contained stories that don't require 15 other tie-ins. I might get the TPB when it's all collected for the mainline book.
