OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

What own title is that?

You forget Aaron is still running the show? If Odinson was getting his own title then the current mini would've been announced as an ongoing and they'd switch artists like they do on every other ongoing.

Not to mention there's already a storyline set up for Odinson to return to the Thor book after this Shi'Ar/Asgardian war arc. Hell Thor may return during/by the end of that.

That would be something. Thor being a support character in what used to be his own book. :lol

I feel like they're going to do a Peter/Miles or Steve/Sam thing where we'll have 2 Thors.

Not necessarily. It's not unheard of for a character to first get a mini and then get an ongoing shortly afterwards. And this has happened without either a switch of writers or artists. Two Thors makes it all the more logical to have two titles, just like the Spider-Men, Iron Men, and Captain Americas do. Literally the best of both worlds.

It's doubtful since we're talking about Thor and not Deadpool and the Mercs for Money :lol

If they wanted 2 Thor books, they'd just do 2 Thor books like they did with Cap and Iron Man. Spidey isn't example because there are 3 Spider-Man titles with a 4th on the way.

Everything Aaron has been hinting towards is that Icons in will return to the Thor book. The current mini seems to be done cuz he needed more pages to show how he gets ultimate mjlonir. Not a precursor to an ongoing title.

He already was when this current and previous volume started. There was an entire arc of Thor chasing JaneThor trying to figure Out whom she was as they took on Roxxon.

Then there were Odinson backup stories.

As for Spider-Man, it's really Peter/Miles/Miguel and soon to be Ben Reilly or Kaine. Not to mention all of the females with Spider powers; Silk, Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen.

It's a literal line of Spider titles.

I'm just talking about the current day 616 Spider-man personas. Although I have no idea what's going on with Kaine or Reilly ATM. Haven't read Clone Conspiracy. Are they not Scarlet Spider anymore? Miles was the only Spider-man title I was reading until I dropped that one too.

We'll see. Plenty of time left before his film comes out.
I'd sooner assume Odinson takes over his book again or they share the book. If they do, it won't be until Novemeber anyway :lol

Marvel doesn't always jump to making books for their bigger name characters just cuz their movies are out. They sometimes mix it up and do something different. People were swearing Sam would be gone the time Civil War came out.

616 doesn't exist anymore but I get what you're saying and if we stick to that, the current day Spider-Men are Miles, Miguel, and Peter. Miguel has been stuck in the past for what feels like 3 going on 4 years now. He's been here since Superior Spider-Man.

As for the clones:

Ben Reilly is "alive" and back as the new Jackal. Kaine is still rocking his Scarlet Spider costume and has returned/alive again after Spider-Verse although he wasn't really dead.

The event has conspiracy in the title so everything may not be as it seems at least with Ben.

Marvel has already announced a new Spider-Man book coming out of Clone Conspiracy with the creative team of Peter David and Mark Bagley. So it has to be Ben or Kaine imo.

That could happen to, since it's the same as Thor gaining a solo title in my eyes, which I said from the start.

Sam wasn't gone, but Steve Rogers was back as Captain America, after not having his powers for some time, and had a solo title come out right after.

It's rare that 2 characters, with big names, only share one title for long.

Again, I don't think that's happening any time soon. Especially given they're currently doing a mini, which is what I originally said.

Well I didn't say it'd be for long. It's rarer that they'd do a mini and then an ongoing after when they could've done an ongoing from the jump.

The next place we'll see Odinson in after this mini is most likely the main Thor title not his own ongoing.

I'm literally listening to the brilliant idiots podcast right now. Love this podcast

This is cool. Plus I'm a sucker for 3D lenticular covers. Got some of those Future's End one-shots and Villains Month covers from a few years ago. :lol

Batman and The Flash Team Up For the Four-Part Mystery “The Button”
All Four Issues to Also Feature Special Lenticular Covers

If you’ve been wondering about how the mystery behind Geoff Johns’ DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1 continues, you’ll find out more beginning this April in “The Button,” a four part story arc in issues #21 and #22 of BATMAN and THE FLASH.

Courtesy of the Batman team of writer Tom King and artist Jason Fabok, along with The Flash writer Joshua Williamson and artist Howard Porter, the two greatest detectives in the DC Universe unite to unravel the mystery behind a certain blood stained smiley face button stuck in the Batcave wall. However, what begins as a simple investigation soon turns deadly when the secrets of the button prove irresistible to an unwelcome third party – and it’s not who anyone suspects! This is a mystery woven throughout time, and the countdown starts here!

In addition to the standard $2.99 covers on Batman and The Flash in late April and early May, each of the four issues will feature a special $3.99 lenticular cover, all drawn by Jason Fabok. Don’t miss the chance to find out more about the mysteries behind REBIRTH when these issues hit your local comics retailer beginning April 19!

awesome... I remember when da comic book crash happened in da late 90's there was sooo much heat going for dirt cheap...
It was awesome!  picked up so many comics I wanted from the late 80s-early 90s.  I remember buying them for $1 a piece.

The only downside was seeing all these comic shops closing, kinda sad.

Ok. I've been giving him a chance but King on Batman so far :x

I wasn't that hyped for him on Batman but I was optimistic. I haven't read his other DC stuff but I liked Vision. I just didn't think it was this amazing run ppl hyped it to be but very good.

On Batman though :| I liked the first arc but it just got bad with monster men and this suicide squad mission. Now this Catwoman ****.

I'm giving it one more arc but it's about Bane and he aint my fab Bat villain anyway.

I decided yesterday that i'm dropping King's Batman. :{ Thought the first arc was mediocre and that the second was just bad. Dialogue is terrible all around.

Resisting the urge to visit the local comic shops out here.

Don't get me started on the dialogue. I am irate reading the most recent issue. Plus the plots are so weak.

Its like I'm not reading Batman. Nobody talks like this.

I thought I had problems with Snyder's run.

Detective Comics right now >

:hat
I'm digging it minus the constant references to this Watchmen nonsense thwyre doing overall at DC.
