When you take off the rose tinted goggles of nostalgia DBS is kinda weak and predictable.

Story development is pretty much non-existent outside of Goku and when they try to venture outside that box the story and power scalings make no sense, word to Super Saiyan Rage Trunks.

As Americans I'd say it holds a special place in our heart because it was our first entry into that world, but in Japan it's an anime of animes.

I really only read One Piece but im aware there are plenty of other IP's that easily compete with and exceed DBS current popularity.
