This current Mayor wasn't trying to get involved after the handling of the last new sporting event the city hosted, in large part lost the previous Mayor his job :lol:. Not to mention the Olympic stadium isn't in great shape.

City was still paying off debt for hosting the Olympics in 76 well into the 2000's :rofl:

True. The fact they haven’t built another stadium yet and the Olympic is standing does make sense.

That thing looks terrible. It makes you feel like you’re legitimately back in 1975. :lol:

As a City tho, Montreal deserved it IMO. Such a great place.
 
Chicago pulling out because they wouldn’t discuss finacials? Weird.

It’s not like Solider Field is some glamorous state of the art stadium.

As a city tho they definitely deserve it, along with having the infrastructure to boot.

Just odd, Chicago dropped the ball with that one.

Chicago has many of issues right now. Futbol is the least of them

I’ve been known to at times take the more scenic route and avoid the city completely. New Tappan Zee Bridge is beautiful.
