Sorry if this is a stupid question..But Bobby Baratheon's bastard son isn't a heir to the throne right?

Currently he has no claim to the throne according to Laws and Customs wiki. Sounds like he would have had a chance if he had gotten to know his dad and his pops could have made a recognized exception for him, but that window is closed.

Bastards are not allowed to inherit their parents' lands and have no place in the line of succession (unless they are legitimized by special order of the king and allowed take their parents' surname, which rarely happens). Even so, the acknowledged bastard children of a noble are still technically “highborn”, and enjoy legal rights which commoners do not possess. Unacknowledged bastards, of course, cannot confirm that they are indeed the bastard child of a noble, and thus are legally considered commoners (such as Gendry, who is secretly the unacknowledged bastard son of King Robert Baratheon)

First of all "Bobby Baratheon" had me rollin for some reason.

Second a bastard can't be an heir to anything unless legitimized.

Not anymore as far as the Game goes. He use to be a piece in the game, but in the books and kind of in the show they kinda developed a story around him so just having him disappear is kinda weird.

Which as king he wouldve had the power to do but legitmized heirs get a claim after real heirs.

i.e. Since they assumed Joffrey and Tommen are real, if Gendry was legitimized, his claim would be after Tommen's. IDK if legitimized boys get it before real girls tho. (i.e. im not sure if legitimized Gendry's claim would be stronger than Myrcella's)

Ya that's what I meant by legitimized and I'm also unclear of the law around bastards and female children. I would assume they come before the women, but I don't know.

I do know that it's different in Dorne. Gender doesn't matter there, it only guys by age.

Speaking of which. If your dad is a bastard, do you automatically inherit the bastard name? Like if your dad was Snow/Storm/Sand. etc. would that be your last name as well?

The Mountain lost to Oberyn because he poisoned him with the first scratch. Drogo wouldn't use poison. And wouldn't have a horse.

Where you getting this from? Is this from the book or was mentioned on the show? I never heard about this

:|

so what's it called then.

It is called "every marriage on GoT". How is this different from Khal and Dany? It is fake outrage. All the **** we've seen on this show, and now people are in an uproar :{.

I think it goes where you are born

Snow= North

Sand= Dorne

Storm= Whatever they are calling the place where it rains a lot. Dragon stone or the reach idk but east of Kings landing

He's asking if John snow has a kid. Is he joe snow
This is interesting

What if Snow had a bastard child with a woman in Dorne?

ohhh.png

Would the child be a Sand?

If he marries a common folk type lady...does she carry and any future children carry the Snow name too?

I've been a fan for years and this questions has never even crossed my mind.

I don't know. The child wouldn't be a bastard so I'm assuming it would have the surname of the mother?

There's a great character from the books named Strong Belwas who originally shows up with Sir Barristan. For what ever reason, the show decided to scrap his character.

Anyways, I'd love to see a fight between him and the Mountain. That would be epic...

Yea i dont think many bastards have the ability to slang their peen around like the lords do.

John is a good example tho because he is the man up town so he can really do damage is he wanted to

Bastard can definitely slang their peen around to other low borns. Not like there arent girls who live in the red keep or are bastards themselves.

You right you right

I guess when i see the bastards in the show its always from a Lord but they dont spend much time on the low born unless its a brothel or a random farmer on the way to a major city

Would be funny to see a family full of bastards with all different last names.

Would sound like GoT's version of the Planeteers

the bastard titles are by region.. I assume once you don't know or cant legally have your fathers name, then you get one of the below:

Flowers: The Reach

Hill: The Westerlands

Pyke: Iron Islands

Rivers: The Riverlands

Sand: Dorne

Snow: The North

Stone: The Vale of Arryn

Storm: The Stormlands

Waters: The Crownlands

Bro his questions is if a bastard gets married and has a kid does the kid get a bastard surname?

We all understand the region thing but the child of a bastard isn't always a bastard so the question is what's it's last name if it isn't.
