The setup was possible because Robb kept screwing up. He didn't marry the Frey girl even though he vowed too and that made the Frey's leave his army. He executed Lord Karstark which made the Karstarks leave him. Robb made repeated bad decisions which set the stage for his downfall. Before the Red Wedding, Robb's army had lost a lot of it's strength which is why he had to appeal to the Freys again. If Robb had married the Frey girl and spared Karstark, he still be alive.
but robb was still the man on the battle field.  his downfall was his fine *** girl.

but lets be cereal robb was a beast and everyone was worried about him.

he was 4-0

even jon said it himself that robb was better than him at everything.

Robb's weakness was his youth and listening too much to his ****. And he should have known better because his father believed in honoring vows. Ned wasn't even supposed to marry Catelyn, she was going to marry his brother Brandon. When his brother was killed by The Mad King, Ned wanted to maintain the Tully/Stark alliance and chose to honor the agreement by marrying Cat. Tywin was getting lit up in the battlefield but he knew Robb was losing strength. He knew that the Karstarks, Freys and Boltons weren't too happy with Robb so he exploited that. Robb definitely had a lot of strengths but he failed to see the bigger picture.

I still think the frey girl who married his uncle looks better than robb's wife.
Yeah, it was done on purpose. Robb's perception was that all Frey women were ugly but Edmure's wife was hot. Walder told Robb that he could marry any Frey woman, it didn't matter, as long as he just picked one.

Wasn't the Karstark thing over the death of his son and Robb breaking his oath? Those Northmen respect those oaths

Robb was never a good fighter, those battles he was winning was showing that he was naturally a good commander not a fighter.  Thats when when they captured Jamie and Jamie challenged him to settle it 1 on 1 he knew better as he'd be light work for Jamie.  His direwolf Greywind was the 1 building a rep as a beast in battle and racking up the bodies in the battles.  But yeah, even non book readers I knew seen that Robb wasn't going to live too much longer just based off his decisions,  Karstarks and Boltons were his top 2 bannermen and once he lost both it was just a matter of time for his death.  Trusting Theon to go back to the Iron Islands wasn't the smartest move either.

Seems like today will be a good episode with a lot of stuff going on. They usually seemed to alternate between good, and not much happening. Not much happened last week so let's hope for a good one.

Idk bout y'all but I'm excited to see Brans storyline pick up after that damn Wizadry Magic fight he was in to end the season.
