A.J. Hawk’s new contract with the Packers is worth $33.75 million over five years and includes $10.95 million in first-year pay.

According to a source with access to NFLPA salary figures, thttp://he linebacker’s contract averages $6.75 million a season for the five years, and will pay him $21.35 million over the first three years.

Hawk, who signed the deal late last week, was scheduled to make $10 million this year under the terms of his previous contract. The new deal pays a little more than that this season but spreads some of those costs across future salary caps – assuming there will be a salary cap in the next collective bargaining agreement – and adds four more years to the deal.

Hawk’s contract includes a signing bonus of $8 million, roster bonus of $1.8 million and 2011 base salary of $1.15 million, which means he’ll make $10.95 million in 2011. If the salary cap returns in the same form it’s been since 1994, that $8 million will be prorated over all five seasons for cap calculations, so in 2011 he’ll count $4.55 million against the 2011 cap.

In 2012, he’ll make $4.95 million, with $4.4 million of that in base salary, $300,000 in a roster bonus and $250,000 in a workout bonus.

In 2013, he’ll make $5.45 million ($4.9 million base salary, $300,000 roster bonus and $250,000 workout bonus).

In 2014, he’ll make $5.95 million ($4.9 million base, $800,000 roster bonus and $250,000 workout bonus).

And in 2015 he’ll make $6.45 million ($5.4 million base salary, $800,000 roster bonus and $250,000 workout bonus).

It was not immediately available whether the roster bonuses were tied to games played.

Yea Ted is giving himself almost 6 million more available this coming season against the cap than he would have keeping Hawks old deal.

Im fine with AJ getting paid.

Just not 10M against the cap this year.
