OFFICIAL HOCKEY THREAD: NHL, KHL, NCAA, IIHL

yeah there is a chance the rangers @%#! the bed against the caps. hockey is just too unpredictable.

^Hell no.  Especially with the crap goal-tending WSH has.

In other news the Wild with another Shootout win. Fan appreciation night on Sat. Hopefully i'll be able to make it there for the final game of the season.

Caps are 1-2 against the Rangers this year...even with the goaltending, the season series and the playoff history between the two, (Ovechkin era) HARDLY gives one team an advantage over the other.  The series (if they play) can go either way.  So I don't see how anyone can go in saying one team is definitely going to advance to round 2.  Playoffs are too unpredictable.

Although i know no one team is guarenteed a series win.

Goal Tenders can steal you/win you a series.  WSH doesnt have that. Plus on the other side of the rink, the rangers have Hank.

Sure WSH have Ovie, who's numbers have been down the past couple years in "Ovie standards".. especially this year.  I think Backstrom being back for him might help the cause but

with the Rangers D & The King in the net... I think WSH beating the Rangers in a 7 game series, regardless of Ovie, is very slim. Plus its not like they have big MO n their side coming into the playoffs.

Idk.. like yall said hockey is unpredictable and of course every team has a chance.  But the Blueshirts just simply have to much good and WSH has to many ?s .

The thing is, even with Hank standing on his head for the previous two matchups in the playoffs vs. the Caps, the Rangers still lost.  On paper, it's easy to pick the Rangers in a head-to-head match up...however, it's going to be a MUCH different story if these teams actually play.  I honestly see this series going 7 games and I wouldn't be shocked with the outcome of either the Rangers or Caps advancing to round 2.

I agree, I feel Washington could beat NYR and wouldn't be surprised. Ottawa is kinda flying under the radar. Very good offense.

Henrik needs a good run this year in the playoffs. Gotta get out of the second round eventually.

I hope sens play boston in first round cuz if so...........Sens baby, first round upset. Everyone and their moms is saying bruins in 4 maybe 5. Pshhhh f outta here.

yes i am mad.

Same here, not so much that Clowe did it, but more that there's 4 zebras out there, and I find it hard to believe not one saw it.
Kings were on the PP already, and could have gotten a 2 man advantage.  Too many if's.  And in game 81.

Linesmen can call that play if I'm not mistaken.

I feel for you guys; I was hoping to see the Pens rep the East. I know they still have to play the series, but I just can't see Pittsburgh beating Philly.

idk.. Briere and Grossman are still in question. I think Flyers match up with the pens really good but we need a few guys healthy
