OFFICIAL HOMELAND Thread | FINAL SEASON

The best part of the episode was seeing Saul steal those leaks documents by typing with literally with two fingers :lol

Is everyone here just watching Homeland since we've already invested too much time into the previous seasons? The fall off in quality isn't as bad as Dexter or Sons of Anarchy yet, so I can still watch it, but come on, there's some pure foolishness going on right now :lol

It's not so much a drop in quality, as nothing can compare to the first season. The show is just completely different now, and is what it probably should have been all along, considering the tone of this season is much easier to write than what was presented in Season 1, which nobody had ever seen before. From a pure entertainment aspect, the show has certainly improved from the nonsense of Season 2 and 3. At this point, the show is basically comfort food, rather than so-called "prestige television". And that's fine.

But I agree... too convenient that there just so happen to be a good-Samaritan doc... taking a stole at the pier... at night.

@ paranoid Saul... and him hunting and pecking away those classified docs!  I just hope it doesn't turn out like in 24, where a critical "object" ends up not mattering at all.

And Jonas... leaving Carrie just like that?  I mean, I would have found it more believable had they been having issues and this was the straw that broke the camel's back.  They seemed happy before, but all of a sudden, a few intense days later, he's calling it quits?

Nothing will ever top Jax saying "Things are going to get a lot worse before they gets better" season after season to everyone

[emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] especially when 90% of their problems were Jax created

Yeah but that 2nd part is mainly while I'm still here the drop off in quality wasn't drastic.

At this point I'm kinda hoping the creator is gonna come to his senses and wrap this series up eventually. Don't fall in to that Showtime pattern of stringing the show on too long until it's really really bad. Don't want to be out here looking like 24.

That's the weird thing I noticed with how other fans view this show.

The creator and show runner/producers didn't hide this was the American version of another show. It's a straight up copy premise and concept wise with a few changes. The show was great and it was what it was but obviously the premise has a short shelf life. In this format if you were really trying you could've got 3 great seasons out of it. We didn't get that but it was still good for what it was.

Then this shift in that season Brody died where it's clear they ran out of ideas for keeping him alive and couldn't get off showing his annoying daughter you'd expect them to really come with a better concept going forward but they kinda just settled in to this spy/ops show.

Gone through with what? The killing of all those ppl (the president and like most of his cabinet) in that bunker? :lol

Yeah it would've been an epic ending but then it'd make no sense going further. If the good guys can't stop the terrorists most devastating plot what's the point? :lol

Yeah but Carrie can take credit for that cuz iirc she was the one that got Dana to talk to Brody before he blew everybody up. I think they had stop listening to Carrie again and this was her last attempt to stop Brody after she figured it out all on her own.

Now if the finale had changed with him going through with it that way that would've been horrible for the main cast of good guys working for the CIA. Especially Carrie.

I don't remember the specifics, but I think they talked about it during episode 1.  Basically Saul thinks that Carrie ruined his chances at being CIA director (don't remember if details were given).  He also felt that by her working for the private sector now, and for a guy who's family used to support the Nazi's, he felt that she had turned to the dark side.

She's, pretty much, going against everything they've worked for and believed in... in Saul's view anyway.

Saul is super pro Israel so Carrie working with that dude is like her teaming with the devil :lol

The sheer stupidity of the characters in this ep :{ What they said and done just to overall how they're written :|

Carrie knows there's a traitor in the CIA. Saul now believes Carrie. Yet they both confide in Allison. It's just too textbook and predictable for this show for them to set up some trap for Carrie to get rid of the threat of finding out this secret the Russian's want hidden.

Anyway, at least it's confirmed Allison has been a traitor since the start like I thought. "You've manipulated these men for years" or something like that the dude said. Then on top of that calling her the most successful infiltration by the Russians in to an USA spy agency makes her the best candidate to be the mole we were looking for back in S1-2 :lol :{ Except now it's meaningless since she's a new character and there's no weight to the reveal.

:lol @ During wanting to get rid of Carrie. She's on her meds and balanced and he still thinks she's crazy.

With that said, her supporting cast has been weak as ****. Just boring or annoying. Still want this journalist chick dead. It's like she has no awareness, the ppl dying around this is about to reach double figures and she's all like lets post it online. ******* idiots.

Quinn drinking his medication :lol He's really a spy the way he can meet with Dar about this new terror cell stuff and not mention Carrie at all knowing what Saul has to do with while mentioning what's happening to Saul in a whole other topic.

If Saul really defects :{

I think during just doesn't want to deal with all the extra ish carrie is bringing. They way he stated it to her husband, it was purely business.

Quinn is seriously on point though.

But why they have to do the taxi cab driver trying to better his life like that. Carrie is the damn grim reaper.

Yeah the taxi cab driver :{ That was cold and uncalled for.

The did it for shock value with that reveal. I wonder how he got caught.

During is playing both sides ....at least it came off that way. He bad mouthed both of them to the other. I'm just wondering why. Maybe he truly thinks she's crazy and want her gone though....who knows

almost threw my phone at my tv when I saw Carrie called Allison
