Official HTC Thread Vol. Scribe, Thunderbolt 4G, Evo Shift 4G, Inspire 4G for AT&T

Opera 9.7 has flash, didn't I post the link? It's hella slower though, especially when you're scrolling and moving. I've been in my pocketsince I had mine, so now that you mention it I just hopped on eBay and copped a leather holster with swivel clip for 8 plus free shipping from one of thoseChina sellers.

I'm still torn on what to do with my TP1 though. Sprint buyback will only give 85$ for it and I know in good condition these get twice that on eBay, butthe hinge is broken on mine so I wonder how much tthat will dock off potential earnings, although the new user could just easily after 30 days swap it out fora new or new refurb one.

Is Opera Mini available for the Tilt2?
Is that the same as the TP2?

7.95 free shipping, could also get 8% off if you care to with Bing cashback

This solar or AC adapter charger was 99cents + 7$ shipping and is IMO > the 100$ Powermat (which has to be plugged in still and you have to buyindividual docks for each device. With this just the charger and you use one of these plugs to connect it to the device

I need a new rom though. Mighty has everything, but it's bland
Marketplace Phase II launches: You can now purchase apps from a desktop PC
We've talked a little about Phase II of Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Tonight, those changes (or at least some of them) went live. Chief among them for consumers is the ability to purchase and browse apps from a desktop PC. From the Windows Mobile Developer Blog:
Starting today, Windows phone customers can browse, buy and download applications online at the Windows Marketplace for Mobile site. The selected applications are delivered wirelessly to the customer's Windows phone and install the next time the Windows Marketplace client runs on the device. This creates another way for customers to easily find and purchase applications and gives developers a whole new level of exposure.

There also are a number of improvements for developers, including increased security to prevent app piracy.

Check it all out at marketplace.windowsphone.com.

Update: Oh, yeah, you folks running Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 are still going to have to wait a little longer ("later this month") for official Marketplace access. In the meantime ...

 •
What if the HD2 ran Android?
• There are a lot of people out there looking at the great hardware design and capabilities of the HTC HD2, and wishing that it shipped with Android instead of Windows Mobile. This is likely due to the popular perception that Windows Mobile is no good and Android is so much better despite actual functionality that may suggest otherwise. Of course, the advantages or disadvantages of Windows Mobile and Android depend on your specific needs and there are many overlaps. What if the HD2 ran Android instead of Windows Mobile?
 • You wouldn't have a free online backup service for PIM, Documents, Photos, Music, SMS (Microsoft MyPhone)
 • You wouldn't have any way to call, find, or wipe a lost phone (Microsoft MyPhone)
 • You wouldn't have the most capable voice-only mobile user interface (Microsoft Voice Command)
 • You wouldn't have Microsoft Office built in
 • You wouldn't be able to log into remote servers using Remote Desktop
 • You wouldn't be able to securely connect to managed Exchange servers and maintain group policy, managed applications, etc.
 • You wouldn't be able to play the large number of video formats supported by CorePlayer or choose from any number of 3rd party video players
 • You wouldn't be able to effortlessly sync Recorded TV shows, videos and photos with Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player
 • You wouldn't be able to sync notes with Microsoft OneNote
 • You wouldn't be able to access network file shares
 • You wouldn't be able to print to Bluetooth printers
 • You wouldn't be able to easily connect external wireless keyboards
 • You wouldn't be able to share a 3G internet connection via WiFi (without rooting your device)
 • You wouldn't have a variety of on-device GPS navigation programs that don't need internet connectivity
 • You wouldn't be able to send SMS messages longer than 160 characters (Android doesn't parse them into multiple messages)
 • You wouldn't be able to completely change your GUI with a simple CAB installation
 • You would have to open two different Calendar applications in order to check your schedule
 • You would have very limited or non-existent voice over IP applications
 • You could easily sync your contacts, calendar and email with Google and multiple unmanaged Exchange accounts at the same time
 • You would have a customizable multi-panel home screen that supports integrated widgets (Just like Spb Mobile Shell on Windows Mobile)
 • You would have a Webkit web browser
 • You would have to "root" your device in order to do any kind of GUI customizations
 • What other advantages or disadvantages would there be to a Touch HD2 running Android?

anyone know when 2.0 update will be coming to the MYTouch 3g? or if it even will?

The HD2 is confirmed for US release in early Q1 2010,
If you get an unlocked version you'll not be able to use 3G.

thanks,
PDANet might work for you. I believe you can also use HTC's WiFi sharing or Internet Connection Sharing program. The latter two are free.
PDANet doesnt work for me "64 bit error" comes out.

can you please elaborate the other two for me???

and i have stock rom. if that matters.

DatzNasty, when you posted that someone could just swap it out, are you referring to insurance? That'd cost $100 in a deductible so I'm sure thatwould cut down on its value.

My Touch Pro's screen has scratches and an oily patch under it. It also has minor dings, scratches, and wear in other places. I doubt I'll get morethan $100 for it.

I like that case you posted, but I don't know that I could wear this thing on my hip. At least I put on a screen protector this time. I need to buy a carcharger now because I almost ran out of juice today.

HTC tops the smartphone sales charts, increases Q3 sales by 60%
Written by Nick Gray

For the past few quarters HTC has been struggling to get its profits up. HTC has been its handset sales numbers go up, but strong competition in the marketplace has caused the average price of Smartphone's to decline dramatically. The Smartphone sale figures for Q3 of 2009 are in and it looks like things could be a little better than they expected. According to the sale figures, HTC increased their sales in Q3 of 2009 60% over the same time frame in 2008, giving them the largest growth rate in the Smartphone market. HTC's growth rate even exceeded Apple (49%) and RIM (47%). Overall, the Smartphone market grew 12% in the third quarter.

However, growth rate is only half the story. The chart below depicts Q3 market share. HTC was able to increase their overall Smartphone market share from 4.5% to 6.5% compared to Q3 of last year. The increase is significant, but pales in comparison to Apple's 17.1% and Rim's 20.8% of the market. All these number reflect only Q3 sales so there is still great hope for Q4 of 2010. HTC should see another huge increase in the last quarter of the year due to the introduction a half dozen or so handsets on multiple U.S. carriers. New handsets for Q4 will include the Sprint Hero, Sprint touch Pro2, At&t Pure, At&t Tilt2, Verizon Touch Pro2, Verizon Imagio, and the Verizon DROID Eris. With this new onslaught of new handsets, HTC should be able to finish out 2009 with a dang. Who knows, we may even see the HTC Dragon (Verizon DROID Passion) in time for the holidays.
