Official iPad Thread ("New iPad' to launch March 16 **Details Inside**)

Ok your only problem is that you messed with the folder in the first place. Delete it, redownload from link in thread and dont even get close to it until you drag it from the downloads folder into the media folder in cyberduck.

All of that configuring is unnecessary. You must have missed a step or something lol. But glad you got it up and running, enjoy!Just watched vantage point on it

alright, so if you already have an iphone and a mac. would it be a waste of money to buy an ipad?

Here is the how to that I got from THX1138 siNfuLiphone forum

aven't seen much posteHd on this so I figured I'd make a post detailing on how to get vWallpaper to work on the iPad (should work on the iPad 2). For those of you who don't know what vWallpaper is, it allows you to embed a .mov or .mp4 video as wallpaper on your iPhone/iTouch/iPad device.

The first requirement for this to work is that you should currently be running an iPad with at least firmware 4.2 and jailbroken.

**vWallpaper does NOT work on firmware less than 4.2 **

To install vWallpaper, launch Cydia and add this source:
Code:
Code:
http://deb.danstaface.net/
Once you've added this source, use the search function in Cydia to find "vWallpaper for iOS4" and install it. This should install 2 items: vWallpaper for iOS4 and SkrewCommon for iOS4. The second item, SkrewCommon, is necessary for vWallpaper to operate.

Once your device resprings after the installation, you should see a new icon on your springboard called vWallpaper - open it up. You should see this menu:

wallpaper1em.jpg

Select Video Wallpaper and you should see the following:

vwallpaper2.png

Tap "Select Videos" to select an animated wallpaper from the already downloaded wallpapers (there should be at least one already installed), or "Download Videos" to download more animated wallpapers. NOTE: All of these videos are designed for the smaller devices such as the iPhone and iTouch, so the videos will appear small and in the corner of the iPad screen. Select a wallpaper to test out the app to make sure it is working, make sure Enable Video is ON; your device will reboot and you should have an animated wallpaper on your Springboard.

Once you've established that the app is working, you want to add another repo that has a handful of iPad vWallpapers. To do this, launch Cydia again and add this source:
Code:
Code:
http://pizentudewind.myrepospace.com/
Now that you have this repo installed (credit goes to PizentuDeWind), use the search function in Cydia and lookup "vWallpaper iPad" to find the video wallpapers designed for the iPad. NOTE: the vWallpapers that work with the iPad use the word "iPad" in the title, i.e. "Air Plane iPad."

Search through the available wallpapers and select the one you desire. To install the wallpaper, you must install it via Cydia by tapping the Install button in the top right corner.

That's it!

(For those of you that have your own videos, or want to make your own in the future, the location of the video folder is here:ohwell:var/mobile/Media/Skrew/Videos - This is where you would copy your video to)

There might be some conflict with other apps, so if you run into any problems post a reply here and maybe we can help. More information can be found by visiting skrew's site: Skrews | and all iOS devices

[h2]Manually installing skins[/h2]The preferable way to manually install skins is to use the "Install from zip file" option in the XBMC add-on browser.

Makes navigating a lot easier. No more invisible bars.

That version of the skin is not to my liking so I didn't recommend it. True, there are no more invisible scrolling bars, there are no scrolling bars at all. So you have to keep clicking all the way down if you need something at the bottom of the list.

Also, I don't think I recommended a build in my post just the addon of icefilms which is the only file I lead people to directly.

Thanks for your help and recommendations though, find anything else out be sure to share it!

What is cool from those screenshots in that link you posted though are the pictures and all the summaries of each movie/show. Is that what you get when you download that 380MB meta-container when you first install and it pops up and asks to install?

I just bought this from Amazon for my iPad and iPod Touch. I highly recommend it for those that have a bunch of A/V components in their house. It's very customizable and has no delay, it's actually pretty addicting when you start designing remotes.

Can't embed for some reason.

I just got mine and am not very tech savvy so I'm completely lost here. Any good apps and games anybody could recommend? I'll start with that, and figure out the more advanced stuff later I guess.

I figured it out if you're on a Mac. Cyberduck automatically puts you in some folder, but I don't think it's the right one to begin with if you're on a Mac. In the pulldown bar in the middle just go all the way up in the levels until you get to the beginning, then follow the instructions that KickHead23 posted as to where to put it and click through the file paths he specifies. It worked for me after that.

This app is the best thing of the summer so far haha, props man! Now I'm definitely going to cop that HDMI cable and watch movies for days on the iPad.
