Got my copy on Thursday and played nonstop. It's a well rounded game, very realistic in someways. The gameplay is the same as last year but they fixed up the terrible tackling and it's not as easy to convert on long yardage situations. You have to make throws according to your players attributes. I.E: Christian Ponder does not have good Deep throwing accuracy, so you cannot just bomb a pass on 2nd and complete it like you would in Madden 11, it is 'True to the Game' more or less. I like it because it's challenging and for the first few weeks there will be no exploitation of money plays (eventually they will be used heavily but for a week at least, I can enjoy the fact that I won't get cheesed to death by one or two formations all game).

If anyone is like me and mainly plays Online Franchises, you cannot use Custom Playbooks in your online franchise games, you will have to pick a certain team book and cannot use your own. They are allowing you to use them in ranked games I think (I have no dabbled in making a book yet). This might change when the game actually is out on the 30th, but from what I learned so far you cannot use them in your franchises. The online franchises are virtually the same as last year except with the addition of DPP.

DDP is meh to me because if you get stuffed on two or three plays in a row, then you automatically don't 'Fight for Extra Yards' anymore, I mean, it's good if you're on a hot streak, but when Michael Turner is not fighting for extra yards in the 4th just because he got stuffed on a few runs in the 2nd... that's unrealistic.

The worst thing is that my guys are in perfect positions to make interceptions and even do the INT animation, but the ball either goes through the hands or they mis time it and the offensive player catches it. I feel that even if it's mistimed they should at least prevent the WR from catching it.

To the people that have the actual game copy and not the 3 day pass, you can't play against each other. The people who have the actual game can only play against others who have the game and the pass people can only play against the people with the pass. Might be wrong, but I couldn't get to a game with a friend who had the pass.

I don't like that they changed the Smart Routes. I like how they were in 11 when you could just smart route a play and it would be.. well smart routed, smart routing a play in 12 makes the route just a longer one.

Overall, it's a good Madden.. a lot better than 11 was because it's more challenging. It has it's flaws but what game doesn't?

8/10 is a good rating for it.

I'm on PS3, so add me if you ever want to get a game in.. I pick teams randomly so no biggie, as long as you don't pick the Eagles.. i'll play.

All that said the game is not without it's flaws.

I've experienced the interception problem hymen man mentioned in his post and it can be annoying.

Also as I've mentioned before the commentary is straight abysmal.

So sick of hearing Gus Johnson call players by the #'s instead of their name.

And Gus we don't need to know what college a QB came from the 1st time they take the field; talk about something more relevant like how said QB played last season.

Overall Madden 12 is a solid game, hopefully it doesn't have the abundance of bugs that have plagued NCAA 12.

i dont understand why they can't get this INT detection issue fixed. it was the exact same thing in '11 and '10. i spent hours trying to get the 5 int in a game trophy in '11 to no avail. I even created an awful team and stacked another team with perfect stats. Would have the team throw right in to db's hand and all i'd get was that stupid interception animation but no catch. same thing in '12. i just do get it.
im not video game programmer but after 4+ years using this engine, how is it so hard for them to make the zone coverge, blocking, and interceptions bearable?
