but on a serious note I think this makes it even more imperative to expand the playoffs to two wildcard teams

I agree, we need a larger playoff system in the MLB

Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse tweeted early Thursday that Downs' most likely destination is Boston, and the Red Sox, who typically do well in the draft, have an extra pick coming to them for infielder Felipe Lopez, since the veteran declined the club's arbitration offer last month.

Pedro Feliciano and Brian Fuentes could also be on the Red Sox's radar, and neither would cost them a draft pick at all, and they met with Fuentes' agent at the winter meetings.

Fairweather #%% fans.  Only showing up for playoff games, getting severely outdrawn by opposing teams when they are in town.  Dont deserve $$%#.

The buzz will finally be back in Fenway, last year was like a funeral home......

Exactly. I'll start feeling bad for the Rays when Rays fans start feeling bad about the Rays.

I hate it when people talk about Theo being the greatest thing since sliced bread. You can give pretty much any GM in the league 200 million dolllars to play with, and he'll build you a contender in today's market.

He's actually scouted and acquired good young talent as well. Although the Red Sox are huge spenders they take a more balanced approach to building their team than do the Yankees.
